I have actually had this idea since the dawn of Sandbox in Halo 3, and I decided to finally share it.
The abilities of customizing your own map in the Halo series has come a very long way. You are able to make virtually ANYTHING you can imagine with minimal skill…okay, skill helps. But imagine have the ability to look at any surface on a forged object, select the “Text” option, choose which font you would like, and type anything you want on that surface. Of course, Bungie or 343 Industries will have to put a profanity filter on, so no inappropriate language will appear on the maps, but just think of the fun of that. If you forge an Infection map that may be confusing to navigate through, you could type instructions on where to go, or hints to where you currently are right on the wall!
I honestly think this is an idea Bungie and/or 343 Industries should consider for Halo 4. Thanks a bunch to Bungie for allowing fans to share their ideas via the Forums.

I fail to see the need for this. Obscenities in Forged text aren’t nearly as offensive as half of the content on Most Downloaded, and it’s a rated-M game anyway.
I have had this idea for a while, i thought of things like grafitti on urban walls, directory signs in factories, and even emblems on flags and walls too for bases.

While I agree, tell that to the guy at Microsoft who keeps adding random words to the profanity filter. Currently you couldn’t make a sign reading “Basement” because “base” is being censored.
