I stopped caring about Halo because of how 343 & Microsoft handle the franchise they shut down the Halo games I enjoyed And I’ve been feeling sad since.
Here are 2 reasons why I stopped caring
-
Not looking after the service while they were up we couldn’t Collectively rank up for 5 months on Halo Reach Because we couldn’t connect to online on even though it says it’s online we only are level 1 profiles without level up or Earning commendations while Unable to connect to online at the time.

My friends & I don’t like how 343 & Microsoft treated the Halo Franchise.
They’re clearly Unwilling to listen to our feedback on Halo Infinite If anyone thinks they listen to us during the sunset Look at Infinite.
It should’ve Not taken a long time for feedback to be Listened to During the sunset. We had to tell a Community leader on YouTube Just to listen to our feedback & finally Nobody at 343 & Microsoft listened to my feedback about how the servers weren’t working on Halo Reach.
Thank you for reading my feedback everyone who was reading it and have a great day everyone.

i fully agree with you, man.
343 is clearly unwilling to listen to any feedback from the community and is definitely not keeping any of their promises theyve made about Halo Infinite as well as about the sunseting.
I basically gave up on the future of Halo, like many others, and just dont care anymore.
And despite the “sunseting” i still enjoy playing the OG Halo titles on the 360.
Yes, theyre limited, console hardware is aging and the playerbase is shrinking, but you never really acknowledge something truly good until its gone…
So lets keep the old player base alive for as long as we can just to have a fun time and show 343 the middle finger

While I can sympathize with missing the old games, bear in mind that they’ve been running since not one, but TWO console generations, more if you count the subvariants.
Their mishandling of the franchise is unarguable, but they had to put those servers to rest at some point. Money, electricity and upkeep for those servers moving forwards would be needless at best and wasteful at worst.
As for not listening to our feedback entirely? While I won’t say that’s flat-out not true, you need to be more specific regarding feedback on what. They’ve addressed a lot of feedback so far and are even going to be adjusting their store model next week.
I don’t know much about the situation with Halo Reach so I won’t comment on that, but the likelihood of Microsoft/343 going out of their way to respond to people who aren’t either content creators or first responders is very, very low.

the thing is that the only thing 343/Bungie servers ever hosted was player data.
All they had to do was make sure that the data was accessible and everything else would be done by the Xbox Live service itself.
Thats also why Halo 4 matchmaking still works on the 360 even after the “sunsetting”.
Today this is even manageable with consumer class hardware and shouldnt have that much of an effect on the servers, as the services and files themselves are now over 10 years old.
And considering that 343 was founded ans is endorsed by Microsoft, a multi billion dollar company with seemingly endless resources on their fingertips, its honestly laughable to claim that a simple file hosting server for XBox Live couldnt be kept running by 343, because of financial issues.
