First, we’d have to reset everyone’s currently quit games.
Now, you are more likely to Join in Progress the more games you quit. In fact, it is possible to JIP a game that you just quit. If you never quit games, then you will never JIP.

A lot of times I’ll finish a game and I get paired with a match in progress
^This is how I think the system should be implemented. It’s really bad now.
JIP should be a punishment feature for nibs who quit their games all the time.
I don’t quit games…
^Then you won’t ever JIP.
What I’m saying is if someone doesn’t quit games, that’s good, and they won’t ever JIP.
However, people who quit all the time should get JIP more often.
I’ve only quit like 2-3 games for connection reason. I got put into a MIP once where right when I chose my loadout for my first spawn in the match, we lost and the game ended. I didn’t even take a step before the game ended and we lost. WTF HALO.
The best way to “fix” join in progress is give us the option to disable it.
Horrible idea. I like Join in Progress the way it is.

You must be have a mental problem because JIP drops you in losing games almost 100% of the time.
How about we get rid of it and derank people who quit often.

Rank doesn’t matter to some people (like me). It might have an effect if it affected the CSR system in the future, but quitters should be punished by being forced into losing games.

No it doesnt. I get dropped into a game every once in a while where the team is up by a couple kills but that doesnt bother me.
Waiting ten minutes to get into a game then having half the people quit mid game bothered me though.
Here is the best fix so far:
When you’re joining a JIP game you can’t back out of it so here is how to back out. Go to network, click system link, wait a second, and then click Xbox live. It will back you out of the JIP lobby.
Im not in favor of punishing people for quitting. People have their reasons. And sometimes its good they leave.
But here’s a solution
How about, a game can be joined in progress until the game is 50-60% won. So the people joining still have a chance of winning. But after 60%, joining STOPs and teams remain as they are.
So if one team is winning with 59 kills, and they need 100 to win. Players can still join either team (most likely joining the losing team). But once they have 60 kills, the teams will remain as they are.

and I liked the idea from The Halo Council, were if there are 3 spots open on a team while the game is going the match making system will prepare 3 people to join at the same time. To keep the game full.

yup I use this feature all the time to avoid JIP. I hate getting thrown into already started matches.
Why fix something if it isnt broken?
Made me laugh, but they should just get rid of it completely. Terribly implemented feature that is so broken I wonder if they even bothered testing it pre-launch.
> Why fix something if it isnt broken?
JIP itself is broken. Why would you implement a feature that has no beneficial effect?

How can someone not see the benefits of always having even teams.
Mind= Blown
