I gotta say first off, it’s nice to see that there is a “Classic Halo Games” topic; very nice addition to the forums (probably was added ages ago but I don’t come on here much).
Anyway, I was just watching some Halo Character lore videos on YouTube, (I don’t really play Halo much anymore, but I love the story) when a snippet of the Halo 2 OTS played in the background, more specifically the beginning of the track used in the credit sequence, and it literally sent shivers down me; with the faint guitar solo being played alongside the strings. It just got me thinking about all them hours in the summer spent playing Halo 3, rushing home from school to continue on the epic adventure through ancient ruins of a new discovered Halo ring in Halo 2, and having no idea what was happening in CE because I was like 6… But loving it.
What are your first memories or most memorable moments in the early games? Specifically the original trilogy. Whether they are LAN party memories or moments in the campaign, tell all
TL;DR - Halo OTS made me feel the feels. What are your memories?
My first Halo was H3 and some of the best memories I had were playing customs and getting a 50 in slayer.
Me and a few friends have recently organised some weekend H3 infection sessions and I gotta say that it was the most fun I’ve had in years. These sessions usually happen on friday or saturday and last for about 5 hours. Feel free to message me if you’re interested in joining. The more the merrier.
Been playing since CE. Im 15, so I was playing at around 3. But in the end, every game was played and some great people were met. LASO on H3, and matchmaking on H2. The wonderful customs on Reach, and then the fast paced MP of 4. And dont forget Blood Gulch. NEVER forget the Gulch. Good times, gentlemen. Good times.
Playing co-op campaign with my brother (he’d always kick my -Yoink- if we went 1v1). But, just playing campaign in general. One thing I will never forget is being woken up at 1am by my brother, who had gone to the midnight release of Halo 2. He started up the game and I was blown away by the opening cutscene, with the epic music, the improved graphics (at the time, of course!), and seeing the POV of the Covenant. That will always be my favorite scene, as a result.
I was in 1st grade when I got my xbox and played CE and 2 until midnight on weekends. Then I remember coming home one day with a the Halo Reach Xbox 360 edition w/ H3 thinking that Christmas came early, which it did. Even right now, listening to the Halo 2 OST, I feel as I was the day I got the Original Xbox. The Memories man. And what is even better is reking some noobs in Warzone w/ the Brute PR and H2 BR combo. In my opinion, They should add a medal when get that kind of kill and call it ‘Old School’.

Playing Halo 2 back in the day,but i don’t like to remember it,because it makes me depressive
I didn’t get into Halo soon enough to have any experience with the games on the original XBox. I did, however become addicted to the series on the 360. My favorite moments were the LAN parties with my high school friends. We’d get 5-8 guys and just blast away all night in custom games. Sometimes, we’d take a break from killing each other and do some campaign. We played every fps Halo game for the 360 and enjoyed every single one!
Other than that, I loved doing split-screen co-op with my younger brothers through the campaigns. Matchmaking was also more fun in the 360 days, as the 360 titles weren’t broken messes, like MCC, or overly competitive and lacking in content, like Halo 5.
Seriously, LAN and split-screen had both better be in Halo 6; there’s no excuse for the lack of LAN in the XBox One titles!
Staying up way too late playing Halo 2 and 3 every night. Thousands and thousands of hours spent on that game. Made many good friends though sadly most have moved on.
I remember when I first got Xbox Live and I would play custom games with tons of people on Halo 3. I made so many friends online that way. Everyone knew each other after a while of just playing with each other. Those were my most memorable moments.
