I was reviewing the Forum Medals the other day and the FLAG! (Helped continue the fight against breast cancer) medal made me think of something.
What if 343i made a Special req pack, lets say the equivalent of a Gold one (same price, same unlockables), that would give all profits to a good cause such as cancer research? The Special pack could even contain a unique emblem representing the cause they would wish to support.
Now I have not spent a penny yet on req packs, but knowing that all the money would go to a good cause might cause me to open up my wallet.
Good or bad idea?

That would be cool, could say , “We Vanquished Cancer, So Can You” or something awesome like that
I think it would at least be a better place for the money than e-Sports.

Depends largely on the charity, but it might be worth supporting.

I’m not too keen on this idea, mainly because I think that a lot of cancer research places make little progress purposefully, so that they can line their pockets with more donations and research grants. Once they find a cure, the money stops coming in. I wouldn’t want to give money to a group that is only prolonging a problem.

Breast cancer is always a good one. Multiple Sclerosis too. Or maybe even Testicular cancer research (with exclusive Grab Life by the Balls emblem/medal)!
What cause would you support?
That’s a req pack I would buy, with pink skins for beats cancer and purple for bone cancer. It’s a req pack that I would buy. I’ve lost family family to cancer and I’ve almost lost to many already. I would gladly put my money down for that.

I remember there was someone else who had a similar idea a while back, saying that money from REQ packs should go to some kind of fund for disabled soldiers and such.
That would be cool but why not go for diseases that are under funded in their research breast cancer research has a lot of money in it already
Great idea! I would buy that to support the cause.

Maybe the Wounded Warrior project?

Not sure what you are trying for here. Are you saying you are willing to donate money for a cause, as long as you get something back? In this case reqs. That does not seem charitable to me. If you are fortunate you should donate to charities/cause at any time without having to wait for 343 to create a req pack. My suggestion is to set a personal goal for annual charity. You can donate cash, or time, or goods, leave Halo out of it.

We already have quite a few running charities at work and I am a frequent donor. But I think it is great when a community unites and focus on a goal. Reqs are there anyway, they might as well help a good cause.

Black ops 3 has the CODE warrior foundation…

I’m sorry but this is wrong on so many levels. Cancer isn’t just one disease they can go out and cure. It’s hundreds of diseases which are a side effect of having a body made of trillions of cells that are constantly undergoing mitosis. There is absolutely no avoiding that. It’s not the same as curing something like smallpox, it is far more complex than that. Cancer a broad category of disease that’s not just going to go away whenever scientists decide they feel like inventing a cure for it.
And you think there’s some conspiracy of scientists making money by “prolonging a problem”? What evidence do you have for that? Money that funds cancer-related research doesn’t just go into the private coffers of scheming scientists who are withholding a cure, there have been major advances in cancer treatments that you’re just glossing over. Seriously, who told you this stuff?

Wow. Conspiracy theory much?
I mean, breast cancer is bad and all, but too many other diseases have little awareness and funding.
It’s not like I’d be upset if they gave it to breast cancer research. Just would rather it be given to MS research or something. Good idea, though.
The underlying problem here, is that money would not be going into -Yoink!-'s bottomless pockets.
I would buy a pack to give to disease research or non-profit charities, though
