With the latest update 343 Increased Warzone REQ Leveling speed.
Why?
Before this update the way that warzone was balanced was by making it difficult to reach the higher teer power weapons, making it less ‘pay to win’ and more skill based.
This is no longer the case. I played a few warzone matches and did absolutely -Yoink-( on average 11 kills a game and 1 boss takedown) , yet i still managed to get to req level 8 in them! (before this update getting to lvl 8 would mean i was doing pretty well) It is now set up so that every man and his dog no matter what skill level will achieve higher req levels.
And as you could probably predict this makes warzone and even bigger cluster–Yoink- of power weapons than it already was and that pay-to-win is very alive in halo.
What the hell 343? Why would you deliberately unbalance a gametype?

Your asking for balance in a gametype that features super buffed power weapons???
I like it. And an willing to try it. There is no sense reqing a level 8 when your team is 50 points away from victory. Today I was reaching level 8, and had plenty of time to enjoy my reqs.
The only skill in Warzone is aiming and boss hunting. You can do both without REQs.
As for faster REQ level ups, just please…stop. Don’t ruin this for casuals like me and my 200 unsold REQs.

Before this update, it was near impossible to spawn with high-level REQ like the Phaeton before it could make a difference. You’ve spawned an ONI Mantis? That’s cool, but your team has 990 points right now, so…

that is pretty funny when you have a rocket launcher that shoots 5 rounds n homes in on everything lol including vehicles.

I fail to even see how this has anything to do with a “pay to win” mindset… Faster Req levels is just as good for the guy doing amazing! Now when the bad kids get their DMRs, the good player can get his Phaeton!! Unless youre a bad player and just being a little butthurt??? if this is the case please don’t blame the game, blame your game
The faster leveling up SAVED Warzone. Played with ten members of my company today and had a blast. So many of us never got to use certain power weapons/vehicles because it made no sense to spawn one when you finally leveled up. But today I saw FOUR Mantises in one game. It was fair, though, because we both had two. It was fun to see. Thanks, 343, for making Warzone crazy fun now.
If I’m on a team, I can usually get to level 9. Takes about 30 kills. I only really use high level stuff to complete commendations. Sounds like it will be harder now if everyone is spawning tanks and snipers.
Will be nice to maybe get some use out of those energy bayonets though.

Beyond accurate. Warzone is 100% better now. IMO Urban is an awesome map as well. I love every aspect about that map. Great addition for warzone. 343 did a good job with the Jan update
It’s awesome now. Before you might get to use a level 6 or higher twice if you were lucky. Now you might actually get to use stuff up instead of accumulating 25 scorpions.

Strictly a business move…pay to win implies that you can’t take any vehicle with a plasma pistol…or that these power weapons don’t have lower level counters…343 wants people to buy REQs…and I have a feeling that their REQ revenue was starting to lag behind…

So happy to hear this, always get to the point I feel like using some of my high REQ’s would be a waste as we’re nearly finishing the game or one team has a solid lead over the other.
Got quite a few REQ 8’s need using up so should be some good fun using them. ONI mantis is good fun got 4 only used 1 so far.
