As the title says, why is this still an issue, this isn’t to imply stompings never happen outside of social but jesus, Its like every game 1 side stomps the other so much so the opposition has basically no chance to recover.
I do also love getting a temp ban cause I didn’t want to waste my time/patience on a game where we’re going 7/38.
Decide to play some PVE to pass the time and NOPE banned from that as well.

No sbmm. Loose Skill-Based matching helps so that you don’t get people who haven’t touched grass in years, but doorstep pro players complain they have to try.
The population is pretty low. Tough to make good balanced games all the time. Better to get unbalanced game than no games.

Do yourself a favor and play Project Cartographer. Yeah it’s only Halo 2 but the mp is amazing. Custom server browser, fast load times in starting matches, better social experience overall. You also have Halo Custom Edition or PC for mp.
The only downside is that 3, Reach, 4 do not have alternatives but those games are so irrelevant and a downgrade from CE and 2 from a pvp gameplay standpoint that I don’t see any benefit playing them. Hopefully they do have an alternative despite my opinions. MCC is broken and will never be fixed. Ever.

So I decided to go play some MCC, hadn’t played in a while. Now I remember why I quit, and why I didn’t buy any more of the games in the collection.

Anyway, 4 games in a row, with teams scores of 50 to <10. I decided to call it quits (again) for good.
There are plenty of us “noobs” (and I’m actually pretty decent) to have a fun game. We didn’t need 3 pros to come stop all over us. I hate that matchmaking thinks having a full server is better than having an EVENLY MATCHED server. Absolute stupidity.

You have to play customs if you want a social experience.
These are old games with small populations, you have to play with people to have a chance to win. If you dont, it’ll be you teamed up with Gamepass Gary’s or trolls vs a group all coordinating with mics.
Because ranked can be so empty, a lot of groups play social, so social is the new ranked.
Custom Game Browser has no exp, no quit bans, etc so matches are always chill.
Even if 343 only matched you against other randoms, youd never find a game in most playlists(especially Big Team) because not enough people are playing this game. It averages 3500 players across 6 Halos on Steam, and that player count includes people playing campaign or firefight.
Whenever I go into the custom game browser, I always seem to only find really weird gametypes/maps. I might be doing something wrong though.
If its 3 or Reach, its usually goofy modes or snipers. 2 is usually BR/Snipe or swords or tower of power. CE is usually CTF with the occasional slayer.
Your only other option is to make your own game in the CGB and pray people join.
Play Project Cartographer.
