Good bet that Elites will be playable in H5/6

I was actually thinking of this while showering, strange eh? lol anyway I’m seeing a trend here. Halo: CE, we weren’t able to play as Elites because Halo: CE like Halo 4 is back to focusing soley on John. I can make a good bet that Halo 5 comes around, the Arbiter will return as was his first appearence was in Halo 2, so Elites may return as a playable race in Halo 5, and so on in Halo 6. Because remember, we don’t know where the Arbiter is in this trilogy. We do know, the Arbiters council aka Sanghelli alliance with humans is still out there. Where they are, we do not know. But if these loyalist Covenant found Reqieum. What makes us think that the Arbiter cannot find it the same way?

Thoughts.

I would hope so. I really hope that we will have Arbiter missions too.

Not much to go on but I do hope you turn out correct.

I’ve never really been a very big fan of Elites in Multiplayer(Specifically Reach). But i’d like to see them make a comeback in the future with a much better arsenal(In other words, NO Plasma Repeater crap).

The story has NEVER HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHY ELITES WERE OR WERE NOT PLAYABLE.

Ever.

Please stop trying to make excuses. 343i just doesn’t care about how Elite fans feel losing their player model.

Why aren’t Elites playable?

Because of all the people who -Yoinked!-, WHINED, and MOANED in Halo 3. That’s it. And that’s why they probably will never come back.

I hope it stays the way like it is in Halo4. No annoying elites in MP.

I sure hope that the Arbiter will come back in this trilogy. He is too important a character.

I don’t want the Arbiter to come back as a playable character unless it’s done similar to how it was done in Halo 3.

> I sure hope that the Arbiter will come back in this trilogy. He is too important a character.

Me too since I loved where the story was going.

Sole focus on John didn’t begin until H3 (and H2 if we’re excluding Arbiter).

CE’s box art may have Chief in the spotlight but look at the background. It’s clear that Chief is the not the main thing about the game.

H4’s box art doesn’t even have Chief in the spotlight. He’s superseded by the larger things (Requiem, UNSC and Covie forces).

Nonetheless, your conjecture makes sense.

Elite players/fans are giving 343i a chance with Halo 4 not having Elites in it. but if Halo 5 doesn’t have them too…

but I’m betting Elites will be playable in Halo 5. there’s no way they can’t be playable by then.

I find Elites being in multiplayer a good thing because it gets boring playing with spartans sometimes. In Halo 2/3, playing with Elites was fun because of the difference in HUD’s, energy shield sounds, appearance and armor. It was also fun just for the sake of being an elite. Why not have them in the trilogy? Make them the way they were in Halo 2/3; same as spartans physically and hitbox-wise but give a different feel when playing with them. There’s no harm in having them in for the enjoyment of some of the community.

Many people (myself included) were disappointed by the imbalance between Elites and Spartans in Reach multiplayer. But that doesn’t mean they should be removed. 343 could just make them equal again. And for those saying “since spartan training is the reason behind Halo multiplayer now, it would not make sense to have them in the rest of the trilogy”, has there ever been a reason behind Halo multiplayer? No. Does it matter? No. At least it didn’t until this whole canon-based multiplayer happened.

Just stop, Elites aren’t playable because of the story, not because of how much people moaned about them in the past, I thought this was well established and understood from the months of the Elite topic.

Exactly this. I just hope they will be brought back in Halo 5 and 6.

As much as I like playing as elites, I think its best that they are left out of MatchMaking purely for balance. Casual gametypes (like Action Sack) could include elites (and possibly other species) but for the competitive side, it should be spartans only.

I don’t see any problem in adding them for Custom Games though, as long as there are options to specify what species are allowed.

Bow before me, mere mortals! For I am LEGEND ST, he who sees all, hears all, KNOWS all! I am above such things as rationality and reasonable thought. My word is law, my opinions, fact.
Heed my words of wisdom, or suffer my immesurable wrath!

OT: I wouldn’t be surprised if playable Elites made a comeback, and I seriously hope they do, I played as them as often as possible. I wonder if they are brought back, will they play identically to the Spartans, like Halo 3, or have bonuses/drawbacks like they did in Reach? Personally, I’d prefer if they played differently, but were balanced, so they could be used in any gametype without giving anyone a specific advantage

Shows how much you know about the balance between a Spartan and a Elites in mutliplayer. 343 removed them because of the imbalance they cause. You didn’t need a health pack in Halo Reach for them.

Are you kidding me? 343 treats all fans of whatever race they like in Halo equally. The difference between the Spartan/player base and the Elite fan/playerbase is about 50/50 now.

If they can balance the Elites and Spartans to make them play equally and at the same advantage, they’ll put them back in.

Maybe not multiplayer but perhaps in custom games.

I am almost 100% sure that Arbiter will return in Halo 5.

It would make no sense to add him at the end of the trilogy.

It would make it seem silly for them to only be gone for one game,Id much rather see them make their glorious return in the finale. Just seems like it would have more impact. You’re probably right as far as the reason for their return though. Arby returns to save the day!
