Originally when i found out 343 would be taking over from bungie i thought they would make a mess out of it, untill i realised that ever since halo 3 bungies games have been… underwhelming, ODST (lets be honest), sucked and reach for all the hype was pretty poor too, im not just talking about the campaign aswell, ODST didnt even have a multiplayer and after 3 years of halo 3 when reach came out i was fully familiar with charging at someone spraying the assault rifle to take the shields down then see who could beat the other person down first, killing them then doing the same to another person but with no shields dieing respawning and repeating.
Ive always been a fan of the halo storyline aswell, loving the unique narrative of HALO: Wars and all the books but i feel theres such an intricate storyline and so many badass things the spartans do in other media that hasnt been portrayed in bungies games.
I think 343’s new take on the game seems pretty awesome from what i’ve seen of it so far, some people will argue theyre COD-ifying it in the multiplayer but i prefer team deathmatch in COD to slayer anyday and im getting bored of the charge in and beatdown i think the whole re-vamp of weapons looks cool too, the introduction of more narrative in the multiplayer aswell all the new things i believe will make it better… for example what badass super soldier cant sprint? 343 have noticed this and given you sprint and made (i hope) hand to hand combat altogether more badass.
The campaign looked nice aswell the E3 demo gave me that magical feelof halo, of the jungle andcof master cheif that ive not had since since halo 3’s “Sierra 117” and i love the fact theyre introducing the detailed storyline from the rest of the universe everything looks EPIC!!!
the only thing im not happy about so far are the spartan IVs, the II’s and III’s were trained from birth baddass actual spartans and the fact that any marine can become an IV and the armour looks stupid annoys me, eg. at the end of glasslands (i think) the spartan IIs are offered places in the IV programme and that annoys me as the IVs are the most badass UNSC infantry and they would be alongside marines etc. you get my drift.
my point is this is what im looking forward to in halo 4, what do you think will be good and bad about it, are 343 taking on the role of bungie well? discuss…
