Let’s discuss about the good additions 343 has contributed to Halo. I have problems with 343 but, I want to acknowledge some of the good they have brought to the franchise. Most of this is subjective so keep that in mind. Feel free to add anything you think 343 added was a good addition to Halo. First, I like te addition of the thruster gameplay. The thrust and ground pound provide for a variety of movement. The Railgun, Saw and Mantis, I believe, are good additions. I enjoy the Railgun for its design, power and similarity to other Halo weapons. The Mantis debuted in Halo 4 and I think was fun to use and fits Halo’s sandbox. Although the Mantis is weaker compared to Halo 4, it’s still fun to use if you want to use it in custom games or relax for bit: stomping around and crouching for the fun of it. This is just the beginning. Add anything you think 343 brought was a good addition.
I like sprint and spartan charge, makes me feel very Spartan-like
I liked v1 thruster to be honest. I like armor designs however the secondary color schemes within those armors look like fillers to keep a player on task with in-game things when they coild have allowed individual armor customization. Like Bo3 has for guns if I’m correct.
The Promethean weapons are a lot better in 5 than 4. I actually enjoy using them in arena. If you don’t, you at least have to like the Incinerator Canon. That thing is a beast.
I like how they made it so the Mantis is able to T-bag.
The railgun is my favourite gun, nuff said
The best addition by 343 was actually a subtraction. When they did the major TU in Reach and removed the original bloom settings on the DMR and replaced it with a more consistent pacing bloom that maxed at 85%. Essentially, they made pacing your shots an actual thing in the TU. So yea, their best addition was a subtraction/modification.
Adding personalities to the halo characters is one, making the best forge ever, keeping the Dmr relevant even tho we have a br, fixing up part of the lore that bungie messed up or didn’t continue on, ect ect, however the biggest one is having the desire to make halo games even having to deal with their mistakes, the grouch that is this community.
I know how the original assassinations were in reach (and therefore made by bungie), but I love all of the new assassinations that they created for halo 5 (hammer time and terminal velocity are really cool)
I really like war zone, and how they were able to mix pvp with pve.
And I really like the addition of sprint
Infection, Griffball, REQ system, Warzone etc for me were pretty good additions and what OP said
I love all the balancing for the guns i feel like i can pick up any gun and us it to kill people. I also like they deal wiht their mistakes and make halo better by every update by 6 they will have the formula down.

Infection and grifball were in Bungies Halos before 343 took over.
I like they way they’ve introduced all this mobility without making you choose between classes. To me the best thing about the older games was the lack of classes, it’s so nice to have that back without making the game feel dated. 343 have done very well at making a classic but reinvented arena sandbox.
I’d say an underappreciated addition is the ability to change seats in a Warthog. Pretty cool, and beats getting out, and running to the back to get into the gunner position.

They did get the bloom just right. I wish we still had that same amount of bloom though because the DMR feels too similar to the BR without it. I want the Halo 4 DMR back!
I like how they’ve brought the expanded lore into the main narrative of the games. Halo 4 and parts of Halo 5 felt a lot like some of the books. While I think much of it could have been delivered better so those who haven’t read the outside media aren’t left scratching their heads, it was a very welcome change of narrative tone for those of us who have appreciated that lore over the years.
And yes, I know there are issues with Halo 5’s story, but Halo 4’s was quite well received by most lore fans, and much of Halo 5 was decent, so I’m willing to cut them a little slack on its shortcomings. We know they can deliver on the campaign front, so here’s to hoping now that they have two campaigns out, one praised and one bemoaned, that they now know what they need to do going forward.
Anyway, point is, Bungie largely ignored the extended universe. 343 has incorporated it.
Love halo 5 and I’m sure I’ve invested more time into this game as an adult compared to my childhood love halo 3.
Reason ive logged over 20 days is the weapon balance. This just hasn’t only given every weapon a purpose it makes every game unquie because you can play each differently. One game I can be hot with a br and play a support style. Next game I can play as a close combat Spartan with a smg or storm rifle. If I can’t aim worth a hoot the bolt shot is there for me.
Everything after Cartographer’s gift
I like what 343 has done with the MP in halo 5. The weapon balance is near perfect. It’s the best MP experience since halo 3. Also, 343 has done a far greater job incorporating the universe lore of halo than bungie ever did. Keep up the good work 343 and continue listening to the fans.
343i’s new additions that I personally love: Master Chief’s upgraded Mk VI, Warzone, Super Fiesta, Halo 5 Promethean weapons, new enemies to fight (the Prometheans), REQ weapon and vehicle variants, Halo 5 sprint, ground pound, clambering.
That’s it for now but there are a lot more for sure.
