So I spent 15 minutes writing a reply to a thread that ended up getting locked. Because I know how horrible Waypoint’s servers are I’m in the habit of copying my replies constantly, so I’ll just post it here as kind of an open letter to people who share this guy’s opinion(s).

You’re so wrong it hurts, and I’m going to address each of your ill-founded points one by one.
Firstly, that’s just your opinion. If somebody gets aggressive at you for being bad, mute them. That’s all you have to do. Mute them and then nothing they say can harm you. Easy stuff. No MLG player is going to get mad at you for being bad in any playlist other than the MLG playlist (which doesn’t even exist), so calling them an “MLG player” just because they’re insulting you is ignorance and nothing more.
Secondly, this can be true, but it happens a lot less than a non-MLG player doing the exact same thing. Nobody who sees a rocket launcher or a sniper rifle spawn infront of them is going to just go “I’ll let some other guy pick this up” (unless they already have other power weapon(s)). To avoid this scenario, play with a team. Search matchmaking in a party and if a weapon spawns (or before it spawns) tell your team you’re going to pick it up. That is exactly what MLG players do. They give the weapons to a) whoever is in the best position to grab it or b) whoever calls it (normally the player more skilled with the weapon).
This part I’m confused about. to start I’m going to assume you mean bashing the players, in which case refer to my first point. If you mean bashing the game, then yes a lor of people are unhappy with the game, and they express their opinions, but that doesn’t exactly ruin the game for you.
Fun is subjective. MLG players will be found in either the MLG playlist or in custom games. If they’re not, then they’re not MLG players, are they? They’re just people who are playing the game, JUst like you. However, in the MLG playlist and in competitive custom games, the goal is to win the game. And that is what MLG players find fun. Winning the match. If that’s not your idea of fun, go play BTB or CTF or any other playlist that isn’t the MLG playlist. If you match people in those playlists that are trying to win, then let them; that is the aim of the game. If they’re rude to you or play unfairly in the process, then mute them and stick up with it. It’s only one game. But to call them ‘MLG players’ and hate them for being such just because you dislike them is completely and utterly ignorant, and I can’t put into words how immature it is and how small it makes me think of you.
