In all the footage displayed so far the real-time reflections in Master Chief’s visor, and the Spartan IV’s is missing.

Anyone else notice?

It was never reflecting in real-time anyway. It was a cubemap of the Environment.

There were never real time reflections in the Visors of Spartans. In any game.

There were reflections, but they were cube maps (I think that’s the phrase)

Perhaps the removal of them is an artisitc decision, all the armour is much more military looking than it had been before, metallic , worn down and well used. There is probably the argument that having a foliage coloured armour is made a little pointless with a shiny reflective visor to give away your location.

They were reflecting real-time in the Halo 3 beta but they got took out because of performance issues.

Real time reflections are far too resource heavy for this generation of consoles. Maybe next generation :stuck_out_tongue:

if you look at the visors they are made up of hexagons anyway which looks WAY cooler

It was said that it would happen, but apparently it didn’t even make it into the Beta.

I’m pretty sure it did, I remember the shiny surfaces on the bases on Snowbound reflecting in real-time, too (or I’m wrong).

Either way, like I said before, it doesn’t happen because it’s too resource heavy.
