I’m playing Halo 3 and the selected levels for this week and I can’t find the golden moas on the levels they’re on. Did the spawns change?
I’m not using any skulls and I’m playing on Normal

I did Sierra 117 earlier and they were there. First one is right at the beginning. You could try quitting the game and starting it up again.

They are indeed significantly larger, if you updated and launched the game 5 minutes after the update came out, the Moas were nowhere to be found, for some reason the moas got updated late hence why they were absent from the game for those who wanted to try the update as soon as it came out. Restarting Steam should have fixed this issue for those who are on PC.

My challenge says to find the Moas in Covenant, Cortana and Halo missions, don’t know why.
I found the Moas in first missions but they don’t count to complete the challange.
I passed this on to the team and they’re looking into it!

I have found sometimes right when the challenges refresh they don’t always spawn right away, I almost have to wait another 30 minutes and then they will spawn. It happened to me this week too.

My friends have the campaign challenges that the moas are actually in but mine is completely different and the moas arent in these missions, they are in the missions my friends have the challenge for.
My challenge is for: Halo, The covenant and Cortana.
When my friends rotation of the challenge is completely different but the moas are in his challenge missions.
Try restarting the game. If you are on Series X and use the quick resume feature, you won’t download the playlist update until you hard reset the game. Do you also see the tactical challenge section instead of seasonal challenges?
I’m on PC, restarting didn’t work
I’m on xbox one and i have the same problem. Restarting the game or turning off the console doesn’t solve the glitch
I read on this post ( https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/golden-moas-not-spawning/511985/4 ) that who downloaded the update as soon as it came out has the glitch too. Later or tomorrow i’ll try to unistall and redownload the full game and then i’ll tell you if it works

Alright so we think we have a work around for this in place.
That said, what maps are you seeing listed in your Eye Spy challenge? And does finding the Moa eventually progress your challenge?

Halo, the covenant and cortana is what my challenge tells me to get but there was not a single moa.
But the moas were in the maps that should of been this weekly rotation challenge which others seem to have.
Can you restart your client? We pushed a backend update.

I don’t know how to close this post but the Golden Moas now spawn and are larger then before
