Does anyone know if we’re going to be able to unlock/use/equip a gold visor for our Halo 5 multiplayer Spartans? I’m thinking that if we do, it will be either through completing the campaign on legendary, or through the REQ cards.
I hope so. Gold is the only visor color that looks right.

That’s where I’m slightly confused, because the concept for H4 was that once we completed legendary we would also get the mark vi gear. now with the mark vi gear being unlocked for the halo 5 beta (and carrying over into the final game) via a certain achievement in the master chief collection, i’m not sure what 343’s point is in just giving us only a visor for completing legendary.
I think we’ll get something for completing Halo 5 on legendary, but I don’t think it will be a visor. I think the golden visor will just be another unlock as you progress in level. It better be in the game however, as it’s the most iconic look for a visor.
Gold visor = best visor
It needs to have a certain feat to unlock it so you can show off that you did the thing. Completeing Halo 4 on legendary gave you the gold visor in Halo 4 and I think it’s the best way. It’s neither too hard so some people can’t ever get it, nor too easy for everyone to be running around with it.
I miss it so much! the one of Halo 4 was more like orange-gold, I hope we’ll have a gold visor like Halo 3/Reach

You can have any Visor colour you want… As long as its Black.

Im hoping we’ll get master chiefs gen 2 armor, both scarred like halo 4 and new like halo 5. The halo 4 version should come with the orange visor, legendary ad it was called in h4, and the halo 5 with a more gold one like we’ve seen.

Nah Halo 4 called it gold, but it was more a mashup of brown and orange, but never like the good old gold one he had from 1-3 and seems to have now (source: H5 screenshot)

No, not for LASO, just legendary. maybe for the original mark v armour perhaps?
It was unlockable in the beta once you reached a certain rank … not skill rank, for the CSR ranking. The beta ran two simultaneous ranking systems; one like Halo 2 (or maybe H3, I’m not sure) that’s your skill rank, and one like Halo 4 where you progress similarly.
And in Halo 4, it was called “Legendary” visor, and it was a dark orange. After Chief got his visor cracked by the Didact in Escalation, they replaced it with a classic gold one.

*update: did a check on the halo 5 ranking system, and it turns out CSR is the skill rank, and that there’s another ranking system which is not related to your skill rank, but rather how much time you put into the game, like in Reach, in which you can get armour and visors. but still, I played in the beta and watched videos on the armour customisation options we had in the beta and there was no gold visor. there was a red one, but no gold.

Right, I knew it was something like that; a ranking system and a progression system. Not sure why I was referring to the one as CSR … I think it’s “SR” for progression (Spartan Rank) then CSR (Competitive Skill Rank) for skill.
But yeah, I watched a Greenskull video about armor unlocks in the beta, and I’m pretty sure he mentioned a gold visor … or maybe that was something for hitting the gold rank…weren’t the tiers like bronze silver and gold?
I’m starting to realize how little I remember about how any of that worked in the beta.
EDIT: Okay, just rewatched the video and there is no such talk about gold visors. I don’t know what I was thinking.
