I’ve noticed many people like to buy gold packs to get the best req cards in the game but is buying gold packs immediately really worth it? I mean everyone loves gold packs but if you buy a lot of bronze packs at first you’ll get all the undesirable req cards and common cards out the way so you’ll have better chances of having good gold req pack openings. I believe you should move from bronze to silver then finally gold instead of jumping to gold immediately but what is your opinion?
Silver to gold is the best strat btw.
That is how many players finished their collections. Although. I didn’t have the best drop rates in Bronze so I stuck with Silver until I was ready for Gold
i finished my collection and i went from bronze to silver to gold
it was quite the grind!
It really depends on the player… not every one cares about unlocking everything. Some just want the better weapons for warzone. I didn’t really care about the unlocks. All the armor is crap looking really, didn’t care about emblems or different assassinations or different stances. I was lucky and got a dmr rather quickly for warzone so I was happy. It wasn’t till they announced the H2BR then I cared about unlocks because I wanted it and was stoked when I got it.

Exactly! It can be a time consuming journey, but you will definitely get there a bit faster with this method.
By the way OP, while this is definitely a good discussion I’m not quite sure that your topic subject accurately conveys your intended message. Referencing a “controversy” makes it sound like someone is scalping them on eBay!
Perhaps something like “Gold vs. Silver Req Pack Strategy” would have been more suitable.
bronze, then silver, then gold is correct. I am now at the point in ONLY get rares and above as bronze and silver are maxed out for me. it does take longer to buy anything, but its cool always seeing mythic, legendary, or ultra rares now guaranteed!
The only gold packs I open are from wzff wins
Not worth it at all, just gotta power through the silvers. Trust me it is worth the wait
Ever since launch people have thought gold packs were better. Wrong, I immediately found out that its better to get rid of common to rares first. Gold pack unlocks rares and uncommons too, but thats something you want out of silver packs. I started with bronze finished all my commons in about a week or 2 and worked my way up. I was finished by the end of december. What helped the grind was playing warzone assault since each match was so quick. I mean sure, bronze may not always award a cert but at least you can sell off the mongooses.

Thinking of selling off REQs, they should create a slightly more fluid UI for that function. I have so -Yoink!- many Mongooses that I’m never going to use and I cbf back and forwarding between to buttons for an hour D:
Bronze to Gold. It is the way to Gold.

Silver to Gold. You’ll waste REQ points opening Bronze packs and not getting decent certs/vehicles/weapons.
My strategy is a bit all over the place :s I’ll play a few games until I get up to 10k or something then I’ll decide whether to buy a gold or 2 silvers, then any I have left over I use to buy a couple of bronze or something, hasn’t really worked great but I’ve already got 2 dmrs since first starting to play H5 a couple of weeks back, but I’m still desperately trying to get the H2 BR and recon armour, might buy a few golds with my real money whenever I can, not spending about £60 on them though, that’s a bit ridiculous, can buy like 2 new games for that amount of money
I’m too impatient to go through all the silver packs lol
I did Bronze to Silver and should be almost done so I can grind Gold. I’ve been getting some sweet drops from the daily log in too and the gold packs from finishing Firefight commendations.
buying golds is likely to result in bronze/silver drops at a much higher cost, therefore giving you a smaller collection as you rank up.
