Gold Req Pack Gifting (and theory)

Can we gift out gold req packs with our saved up reqs Plz. Atleast for a weekend. 343 stated the reason we cant is because of scams. What do you mean by scams? So does that mean people can scam right now, but instead of scaming with virtural money we are capable of scamming people off real money? I dout the reason we cant use req points is not bc of scams AT ALL. I think 343 is trying to “scam” us by lying to us…I think all they want is more money.
Please if we can do this for atleast a few days…i dout any problems will rise and if a exploit does rise take if off ASAP and everyone can blame me or thank me later

Not everything is a conspiracy.

Like it or not, I agree with the folks at 343 and have little faith in humanity in this regard. It would be too easy to exploit.

> Why can’t i gift other REQ packs or gold packs purchased with RP?
> We know players who have amassed massive stockpiles of RP would love nothing more than to help spread that love amongst their friends but after reviews with the Xbox Live Enforcement Team, studying examples of similar systems in the wild and consulting a variety of experts, concerns over a multitude of potential scams and exploits led to the decision to limit this new feature to real-money transactions only. Further, Gold Pack Gifting is only available to players once they’ve reached Spartan Rank 5 or greater in Halo 5: Guardians.

Gold farming is just one possibility that comes to mind.

Well, obviously part of it is because they want more profits off of REQ packs, however, the possibility of scams is still there. Here:

> Scenario 1:
> Say that Player A has 200K RP, and all the REQs unlocked. He doesn’t need any more REQs. Now, Player B is new to the game, and they have almost nothing. Player A offers to sell them Gold REQ packs for $1.99, a dollar cheaper than 343’s price. As a result, 343 doesn’t make any money from the transaction, and Player A profits.
>
> Scenario 2:
> Imagine that the same transaction occurs from the first scenario. However, Player A does not follow up with the REQ pack after receiving the $1.99. Player A profits, 343 doesn’t, and Player B is scammed out of their cash.

Scenario 2 will probably get 343 a complaint or something from Player B as well.

They don’t want to be undercut. There are apparently a lot of sad acts buying these packs with actual money.

Off the top of my head…

  • “Send me 10 dollars and I’ll send you a 100 dollars worth of req packs.” Req packs never come. Cheating gullible people out of ten dollars. - Any other variant of the gold farming/item farming/breeding farming models that are used in MMOs or even Pokemon could easily be applied to req packs. - Existence of a req black market leads to fewer req packs sold, less profit for 343 and hurts Halo overall due to the dent in profitability - Req Pyramid schemes and you invite two people and they send you two req packs each and they invite two people and each get two req packs each. - Req lotteries; pay me a dollar and I’ll add your name to this pot and randomly select a winner for 100 dollars worth of reqs. The use of real money tends to discourage this kind of thing. You should also realize that profit isn’t in and of itself a bad motivation. There isn’t anything wrong with profit.

I’m going to go ahead and locked this. I don’t see any benefit in conspiracy theories and most of the notes have been hit.
