Both, I think.

343i never ceases to amaze me. *sigh. *kills feed, watches FORUM instead of actual gameplay.

both, you’re correct

I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s stupid that they’re playing the same map twice on different modes. Big part of the reason I’m only here for the codes.

How are the maps / game modes established? RNG?

I don’t know. I’ve only seen 2 championships, this one included. Seems they just rotate between the same stuff over and over. I dunno how those guys can keep going for that long without feeling some repetition, even if there’s money involved. But I digress, back to the codes.

I’m really hoping I don’t miss a code, gotta go to Walmart

Take your phone with you. Put both these threads up. We’ll let you know.

Even tho I live in Spain and speak Spanish, it is quite strange that a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP doesnt have casters for english, they expect us to watch it in Spanish, like at least some casters from Uk or Us, just the audio they do not have to be there at all. Just like a football match (soccer) is always has comentary for each country.

I dunno, seems strange.

How long are the codes good for? If I walk away for 15 minutes, will one expire?

yes they will, usually last between 3 - 10 (rarely 10) minutes

Good game design i suppose. If you reduce/eliminate the ‘luck’ factor, you’re left with skill deciding games. Even though i don’t like calling Esports, ‘sports’, that’s one big similarity: always the same, even playing field/rink/etc., so it’s up to the players to perform well to win. Look at chess lol

They only last like 4 minutes you have to be really really quick,

How many codes have been handed out?

They’re probably worried the PC Police will come after them for being “intolerant” or some such nonsense. I had to tap out, my Spanish is weak and only picking up like 10% of the conversation feels like a waste of time.

Good game design, maybe, but you gotta remember that a big part of Esports, or sports in general, is making sure those watching you get a good experience out of it. With video games it’s even more imperative cause if you’re on the same maps and modes all the time, like here, it gets boring really fast, especially if we’re talking FPS.

random amount will be, none yet today

Makes 0 sense, especially when they are so desperately trying to keep Halo MLG going strong. Unless they have STRONG evidence showing that only a small percentage of people watching are non-Spanish speakers, then they have no reason not to have an english commentary running. And even a Spanish commentary running during the english events.

Edit: and they don’t need the best of the best doing commentary. They could pick up any amateur announcer who has an idea of what’s going on to do an event like this and save the budget for the “good commentators” for the primary english speaking events.

Did the match finish? All I’m hearing now is post game stats. If so, jeez that was quick.

I hope they give at least ONE code in the next couple of hours. I don’t want to go to work without one
