But here’s the question… what kinds of clips are worth featuring? I have quite a lot of Triple Kills, a handful of Overkills (the highest multi’s I’ve gotten so far in the game), but should I wait until I have at least a couple of Killtac’s?
Lots of montages anymore have these insane multi-kills and now it’s like, “what is the acceptable bare-minimum?”
What do you expect to see when you’re watching a montage?
Anything less than an overkill has to be impressive to be worth putting in. So if you got a 2 for 1 with the sniper then a no-scope by all means throw it in, but if you just pistol’d 3 guys then skip it.
Past an overkill it’s more lenient. Just getting that many quickly is usually enough unless your shot was just awful and you got lucky…then I’d probably leave it out.
Generally speaking, the best stuff to put into montages are sniper clips, consecutive perfect kills, clutch kills (triple for a flag return, etc), ninja assassinations, cross map lucky sticks (not skilled but fun to watch) and any high multikill like a killtrocity with bonus points if the shooting was clean.

What I expect is a good combination of gameplay, music and editing. I have watched many Halo montages and what I love about watching them all was the differences between them. Especially Halo 3. Funtages, 100% MLG pros, snipers, jumptages, dancetages, live recorded stuff etc. The main thing for your video is to make something that you really like. Forget the rules. Think outside the box. Try to show clips that are original but always show how much fun you had getting them. The best tages are not neccesarily the pro killimanjaro ones. I find the combination of good music and editing almost as important as gameplay, but that’s just me.
