the problem with the commando is bloom (random bullet spread) not the recoil (physical kick pattern) of the gun,
imo to fix the commando as is, it needs to have its bloom next to removed and take a heavier recoil pattern. This adds skill to the gun but more importantly it returns control to the player and removes randomness.
The issue is with how much bloom it has even if your aim is center chest you’ll miss bullets. -
I could see the commando get reworked slightly to have higher damage with a lower rate of fire.
I think this would be a good change yet an unnecessary change
I’ve played wit the rampage, its a fine gun but it only works well since apex is mostly recoil based.
I actually think it’s the AR being an all role weapon being the problem rather than there being a problem with the commando itself.
Very much agreed. Thanks for the input. Think your right, bloom would be better to fix. If the recoil was gone then the weapon would be a lazer beam and nobody wants that.
I haven’t played Apex in a long time and never got to experience using this weapon. I do like the fire rate and how it plays from watching videos. I would like the Commando to be more Boom Boom Boom rather than what we have now being popopopopop. Of course a straight copy and paste from Apex wouldn’t work in halo.
i much prefer recoil based aiming compared to bloom.
bloom adds randomness to weapons and lessens or removes good aim and player skill as factors, bloom is a lazy balancing mechanic over all.
bloom is when you shoot multiple rounds and the cross hairs expand having bullets shoot out at random angles within that widened cone.
recoil patterns are much better, they can be learned and players can adjust their aim to stay on target. recoil patterns do not add randomness and do not take control out of the players hands but it does balance weapons and makes them harder to use
Yea Halo has its problems with bloom ever since Reach. Hope your right and it gets some tweaking for the Commando.
Range - best at mid range mainly
Recoil - high
Bloom - high
Fire rate - high
Ammo - feel low at times
TTK - Good
There’s a lot for weapon to be balanced right and I think that most of these mechanics for the Commando needs some improvements.
