Global weekly challenge progression

what the title says.

Currently, we have to wait for a certain challenge to be active in order to progress it. This is a waste of time and introduces an element of luck for challenges that are either difficult, tedious or simply take too long to complete.

A very good example would be stop killing sprees in fiesta challenge. This challenge has an element of luck to it and a lot of people disliked it whenever it has appeared. However, there must have been a time when they inadvertently got the medal in their random fiesta games. Unfortunately, since the challenge was not active, they had to do it again and this leads to players engaging in toxic or annoying behaviors such as kill feeding to the detriment of their team. This is, of course, an example. A very recent challenge that suffers from a similar dislike is the get backsmacks and melee kills in last spartan standing.

The fact that people have to wait for a certain challenge to be active in order to complete it makes it time consuming for people who have achieved the feat in an earlier game and have to do it again. It also creates irritation if the challenge in question is difficult.

I propose that all the weekly challenges should be tracked simultaneously, all at once. The “4 active challenge slots” system should be done away with and every weekly challenge should be tracked at all times. This way, you won’t have to do the same thing over and over again in order to complete a challenge. It will also make some of the difficult challenges more palatable as there is no worse feeling that completing a challenge and not being rewarded for it since the challenge was not active.

An example would be, this week we have 3 “get melee kills in last spartan standing” challenge. One requires 10 kills, another 3 and yet another 25. If you have all these active at the same time, you need to get 25 melee kills to finish all 3. If you are especially unlucky, you will have these challenges far apart with no discernable way of lumping them together reasonably without ruining other challenge lumps and in this worst case scenario, you will have to get 38 melee kills. The process is long and tedious and certainly not fun for people who want to enjoy a gunfight in LSS.

The worst offender for these kinds of challenges are the game mode specific challenges. You get the required game-mode when the challenge is not active and when it finally becomes active, you simply can’t seem to get into the required game mode.

Once all the weekly challenges are completed, the capstone challenge can be revealed and people can finish it to get the weekly reward.

TLDR : elimiate the 4 active challenge at a time system, make all challenges active at once so that people don’t have to repeat a feat over and over again if they have completed it in a previous game.
