So with this tournament being a tournament with a $500,000 prize purse, and $300,000 cash total thrown at the top 8 players, there is still $200,000 left to spend on prizes. The prizes for week 1 and week 2 are a couple of kinnect games, and some avatar items… I hope we’ll see some headphones, mega blocks, books, CDs, controllers, action figures… anything other than kinnect games and avatar items really
Has anyone heard any word on wether or not the prizes are going to only be kinnect games ::BARF:: and avatar items? These are some of the least desired things I could possibly think of to give away as prizes. At least make the prizes Halo themed, you know?

Honestly, for $200K in weekly prizes, ALL of the prizes need to be Halo related and something beyond just digital crap like avatar stuff. That literally costs NOTHING. It’s just a code to give away.
Prizes need to have substance.
McFarlane Halo figures, Halo Mega Bloks sets, Halo posters, Halo novels, etc. THOSE are weekly prizes.
The digital stuff is a cop-out and way to easy of a route to go. A simple e-mail program generated to send codes to winners…
Apologies to 343, but prizes need to be BETTER. And it shouldn’t have to be something that MIGHT come in the last 3 weeks.
What about those players who only planned on gaming the first couple of weeks due to the game type?
Gah, I wish I could manage these contests. If -Yoink!- gaming can’t pony up the prizes, they shouldn’t get the contract. Yes, there is $300K in real money, but again, that’s for a VERY select few who make it to the top. The great majority of the rest of us won’t have a chance at that, even good players.
I’m guessing though that it would be too much “work” to mail out that many physical prizes and cost-prohibitive too.
the last -Yoink!- gaming “tournament” (I use the term lightly in this case) had a lot of reported issues with players never receiving prizes in the mail. Maybe that’s why they’re resorting to digital stuff? I’m not sure. My guess is that even the copies of the Nike+ Kinect and Fable: the Journey, will be digital redeem codes as well. I mean, the easiest way to deal with this would have been to give out gift card codes that would work at say, the mega blocks website that would be good for a certain amount of money towards their store. That way, everyone would be individually responsible for getting their prizes shipped to them correctly. Heck, even Amazon gift card codes would have worked out great. But to give away games that people don’t even want for free?.. What the hell kind of prize is that?
I have been playing halo 4 since release day and not had much lag problems. But for some reason while playing the championships its lagged so badly in every game. So tried a big team to see if it was me and it worked fine. Something strange going on.
