Glitch or clever enemy

In WZF the kill all grunts/crawlers when the spawns stop, has anyone found a hidden enemy?

What do you mean? Are you talking about the instances where no more Grunts / Crawlers just don’t appear anymore?

If you’re nearing the end of the round, you get the red arrows showing you where the last few enemies are, so this seems impossible.

As an aside, I was playing the Sword Base mission in the Reach campaign once. In the part at the end where you’re using rocket launchers to take out the banshees, there seemed to be no Banshees anymore, but the cut scene wouldn’t start. Turns out there was a banshee lodged in the building above me, with nothing on radar That was weird.

I’ve seen this occasionally happen, but it’s rare glitch. Most of the time the AI spawns in an base or armory and no one finds them till the markers appear or time runs out. They don’t always spawn out in the open. So hop into a Scout Warthog and start driving around and searching inside buildings or in underground tunnels/passageways like in Darkstar.

This is a known glitch. Sometimes you can find one lonely enemy who’s hiding somewhere, but other times there are none. They probably spawned inside a wall or under the map in these cases because they can’t be found even in spectator mode.

yes, G/C’s stop spawning and the game is lost as the timer runs out. I have searched the map, to no avail, I was wondering if anyone has been able to find a hidden enemy or is it a lost cause.

In that case it seems like a glitch. Wouldn’t be the first one in Halo 5.

I have seen this glitch many times before, especially on Stormbreak. But it’s not limited to Grunts / Crawlers; the “Defend the Core” rounds also see this glitch as well where no enemies show up to attack it.

It seems the glitch tends to occur most often when someone splatters the enemies at almost the exact same time as they warp in, so somehow the kill counter doesn’t record those enemy deaths. So you have a couple of enemies unaccounted for at the very end.

Once I was playing on darkstar and on the banshees bosses round, one appeared outside the map. The arrow was showing where the leader was, but we couldn’t get there as it was outside the map, behind the core room.

Oh, I hate it when that happens! It’s just as bad on Escape from ARC when the Banshee boss gets stuck under the map or inside one of those launch silos…

Great advice.

I find this happens mostly when someone (usually me) splatters the enemies as soon as they spawn. I have had ti happen multiple times and that’s why i believe this is the root cause. When you (or a teammate) splatters them as they are spawning, the game does not register the kills even though they have died. This makes it so the 3-5 enemies you splattered on spawn are not dead and do not trigger the next set of enemies. Since i have stopped the spawn splattering, i have not had any issue with this glitch

Hope this helps

Edit: DRipper posted something similar earlier and i hadn’t read it

Yeah, don’t kill the enemies right as they initially spawn and that should prevent it. It’s not harmful on defending rounds, but it does make you play the whole round though.
