(glasslands spoilers) GRD helmet belong to a (spoiler) in halo 4?

title probobly got cut off so: could the GRD helmet not be meant for multiplayer in reach but rather as a hint about a spartan 4 in halo 4?

I mean at this point its pretty clear they arnt going to add it to the game but then why add in the GRD dolls and show us the helmet? I think that it probobly belongs to a spartan 4 who shows up in halo 4. and right now thats the only plausable reasson i can think of for showing it to us is to hint at something in the future

maybe, maybe

That’d be cool. Guess we’ll find out in the future.

You might be on to something… Because we don’t know how long its been since Master Chief has be “sleeping”…

Good theory.

I thought it was confirmed that Halo 4 will be set one year after the events of Halo 3?

I like this line of thinking.

But a Bungie employee used it on Bungie day. It can clearly be unlocked somehow. Maybe there is a GRD we are all missing?

did we ever find the video showing it?

and even if they did show it maby its just too keep everyones intrest peeked with it so they asked bungie to show it in a modified armoy.

all im saying is halo 4 is almost a year away and the time to make GRD for reach campaign was when CEA came out and they didnt do it than.

Actually it’s been confirmed that it will take place 4+ years after Halo 3 (Halo Legends - Origins).

Well Bungie was also the company who developed the game, and if I’m not mistaken usually the developers get a “dev” copy of the game to mess around with, and their particular copy has just about everything that didn’t make the final cut in the game unlocked. (ex: missions that were cut, maps that never made it to the final version, helmets that aren’t in the final version, etc.) That’s the reason why Bungie employees can use the Haunted Helmet (unlocked at Inheritor) before they’ve reached the inheritor rank.

My guess would be that the helmet was supposed to appear in Reach, but they decided not to include it, for whatever reason. And the reason you saw the helmet on bungie day was because the employee was probably using his dev copy of Reach.

I thought this helmet didn’t actualy have a name, GRD is what some troll said it was called (apparently) and now everyone seems to call it that and at one point it was called a BoB helmet because it has a reference to Marathon I was just wondering if anyone knew what it was really called?

yes, good theory. why would they put the GRD easter eggs if it meant nothing??

might it be Mk VII?

i thought GRD would appear in Halo 4 and the dolls were just teases bout the awesome helmet in halo 4, or something like that… but then i thought why in the world would there be a pic of Reach in-game on Defiant with that helmet if it is only going to be Halo 4. that is what gets me

You know, that sounds like a pretty good theory!

Maybe this is hinting to what the Spartan IVs will look like.

you are right it was originally called the B.O.B helmet but that GRD after bungie day. but untill we gain acces to it ourselves nobody knows for sure

I am leaning toward this response. Maybe it was a helmet to become the new recon. Not as in a replacement, rather a piece of armor no one other than devs could wear. Flames, recon armor… they’re not exclusive anymore. Why not dangle this in front of the crowd? Makes sense to me. I’m not saying it was a purposeful tease. But, it happened. As for my wish list, I hope ODST, MK V, Hayabusa, and Security make a return. Maybe even the katana, too. I thought armor customization was a big deal when I first played H3. And hopefully there are ways in campaign to unlock them. Like skulls for Hayabusa or completing campaign on a certain difficulty for elite armor.
