Note that I haven’t read all of Glasslands yet. Only a part.
I’ve heard that the Dyson Sphere was brought out of slipspace, and the Spartans along with Mendez and Halsey were “rescued”. And that it is the size of Earth’s orbit. From what I’ve read, the Dyson Sphere has Earth-like conditions. Could this mean, when ONI is done scavenging all the technology from it, that it is colonizable? Instead of the UNSC colonizing planet by planet, couldn’t they just colonize the sphere? Thats a lot of room, even if they were to share it with Sangheli or other species (which I know would never happen). They’re entire civilization could fit there. As long as the local Sentinels and Huragok would allow it.
If I’ve missed something, please let me know. But is it a possibility?
Exactly, but it would all depend on what ONI decides to do with it. If they will ever allow it to be colonized it due to the high value and all the Forerunner Tech there is.
It could take, potentially, thousands of years to map and explore the place. Never mind the amount of possible Forerunner secretes and technology present.
It could be colonised. It could also act as a failsafe, fallback position incase something bad happens.
If it can revert from the time/space bubble and back again then it becomes even more useful.

Yeah it would take a very long time to map everything. But we could take it slow. Find an area, make borders, and colonize. While this is going on the military would keep mapping, taming, clearing, and allowing more areas to be colonized. Take it slow, soon we would have hundreds of cities, and light-years of more space to expand. And if we could move it into slipspace again that would be great! Travel would be faster too, instead of traveling inbetween stars we would only have to travel inbetween “planets”.
