So…I discovered today that my copy of Glasslands is a misprint after finally returning to finish it. I have the smaller paperback version, seeing as I always wait for those to release before buying them. They fit in my collection better.
On page 304 it jumps back to a repeat of pages 129-160. Then on 160, it goes back to 337. I’m missing a solid 33 pages and I’m a little flustered at getting a chunk of the story lopped off.
Can I get it replaced? I also have a friend who says a rare misprint like this might be valuable, so I figure turning here to ask what to do would be the next best step. I just want to know how I can get my missing pages so I can keep reading.
You can:
-
Go to place where you purchased your book (be it a store or online) and exchange it for a new copy.
-
Keep the misprint and purchase a new one. It is true that misprints can be valuable given time, but that can depend on many factors. However, this will, again, force you to purchase a new copy.
Those are basically the only options available.
So even it’s been quite some time since I bought the book? Would they still replace it?
I got it from a Barnes N Nobles if I’m remembering correctly
Always worth trying. I mean, its kind of hard to fake a misprint of that magnitude, especially if all you want is a replacement copy of the book.
Do they have a forum? could always ask there.
Or use the phone.
They’ll probably want a receipt to know you bought it there though.
