Waiting for the whole plate of goodies. I can’t read previews or teasers with books. I need the full shabangabang.
Ah.
It’s interesting to see that they considered Brutes and Grunts to do the farming and such.
I wonder where the huragoks went. Think they went to where John is heading? Imagine having ships crashing and crashing, being piloted by Huragoks.
So… epic. Can’t wait to read the entire thing.
Just read both chapters then.
I gotta say, I’m… disappointed with what the Humans are doing. Hell, I don’t even get it. Is Parangosky doing something without Hood’s knowledge? Because if Hood wants a peace deal with the Elites, it wouldn’t make sense that he’d authorise something like this.
Interesting to hear Elites’ point of view about humans though.
Certainly going to pick this up when it’s released. (What date is that again?)
Oh, and I’m calling it right now. Elites will be enemies in Halo 4.
could somebody link me, I can’t find it
Homepage maybe…
So far I don’t like Oni’s plans. I hate ONI. I like Thel’s intentions and I hope things work out for the Sangheili.
It looks good! I was shocked to hear about the ONI conspiracy, but at the same time not too surprised that they would do that.
I’ve been wondering for a long time now what the Humans and Covenant species are doing now that the war is over, and I’m glad they’re finally revealing some info. I hope this book will cover what all of the species are doing, and I wonder where the Huragoks went. . .
Other than reading the history which is still a good idea, I think it would be a good idea to read/watch items that happen after the events because it may give us hints of how the story goes.
2553:Halo 3’s Ending where Lord Hood has his speech and his talk with the Arbiter.
2553:Halo Evolutions From the Office of Dr. William Arthur Iqbal(Gives reference about a agreement with the Sangheili and humans)
2559:Halo Evolutions The Return as this give a idea on how the humans and the Elites are with each other. It looks like Humans and Elites dont fight but are not talking with each other.
2589:Halo Reachs Ending where Humans colonise Reach again.
erm… ok, I have just read both chapters and can I ask why in Halo did Traviss think it was a good idea to put Jiralhanae loyal to the Sangheili? Also how have the Sangheili lost hundreds if not thousands of ships in two months?
If those two questions can be answered than Glasslands is looking to be an ok buy
I don’t like what ONI has hidden up it’s sleeve…trying to turn on the elites and Parangosky’s mentioning wanting Dr. Halsey dead…I’m not gonna be a happy camper if either happens… ONI would have quite a few Spartans that would be royally pissed if ONI kills Halsey and they wouldn’t let it go unanswered.
I’m most excited about what happens with Dr. Halsey and the group of Spartans with her. It may open up really cool gameplay options for the next trilogy of games, imagine having Spartan III’s as an option with their unique armor. Good read so far, definitely picking it up on the 25th.

Perhaps there were a few Jiralhanae who sided with the Sangheili during the Great Schism. Just speculating, but who knows. Just because the Covenant divided into Loyalist and Separatist, doesn’t mean that all of the Jiralhanae were Loyalist.

Wouldn’t surprise me… Especially considering apparently Elites want all the Humans dead still.
I don’t like where this story is going. Especially if it means the war between the humans and the Elites is going to be a central part of Halo 4.

Or, it could be that some Jiralhanae sided with the Sangheili after the end of the Human-Covenant War and the death of the Prophet of Truth. The book starts 2 months after the end of Halo 3, and a lot could have happened.
Also: UNSC Infinity! It seems we’re going to learn about this ship before the end of the book. Can’t wait!

I don’t think that’s gonna happen. From what I’ve read these events occur during the events of Halo 3. A few months before the Memorial of the end of the war in May 3, 2553. And as we’ve seen in the cutscene, the Arbiter shakes Lord Hoods hand. Meaning the Elites and human have made a peace treaty with each other. I’m just speculating so I could be wrong.

I think the book is set during the events of Halo 3. Cause what I’ve read, the ODST’s, Osman, Polanoski? (hope I’ve spelled correctly), and others were making they’re plans during the month of January, 2553.

Which is after the end of the human-covenant war. The war technically ended in November of 2552.
