glassed skull

Last skull I need

Good afternoon.

So, I assume you are having a hard time because you cannot find it. You have to get this skull on Legendary Difficulty Only, as the matter of getting it will not spawn on lower difficulties. Hopefully this IGN Walkthrough will help you with that and show you how to get it (Click Meh!). Keep in mind that there are ammo creates for the Magnum, DMR, and Battle Rifle scattered throughout the level with infinite ammo pickup on them, meaning whenever you run low, run to the box and get some more. I would suggest doing a runthrough on Easy difficulty on Glassed to find these ammo creates, so you can patiently go through Glassed on Legendary at your leisure without having to worry about ammo. Also, take the higher ground when possible on this map if you do not have the Scorpion Tank.

Hope this helps and have a nice day now.

You should give him another link, he might get IGN’s cooties.

Good luck

Finding the skulls in this game were very underwhelming.

That is true for most of them but the Glassed Skull is a bit of a pain as it has to be done on Legendary Difficulty, and if you don’t know where those limitless supply ammo crates are on Glassed upto the Scorpion Tank (I’ve found at least three), you’re going to run out of ammo in your DMR/Battle Rifle/Magnum very quickly.

As a matter of fact, those ammo crates are very crucial on this map to the point where you can use this map to get Drop a Quarter, Up for a Challenge,The Tortoise, Party Hearty, and My Rules Achievements easier due to being more leisurely though long if done properly than on any other map. Set the Difficulty to Legendary in Co-Op with a friend with Grunt Birthday Party, IWHBYD, Catch, Famine (The Ammo crates essentially negate the negative effect of this skull and the 2.0 X Skull Multiplier for Up for a Challenge Cheevo), and Cowbell skulls active and these five cheevos are easy if you take your time and use the ammo crates. Catch will allow you to get in some free shots on the Promethians before dodging grenades, making them actually more predictable and easier to deal with at a distance. Splinter Grenades don’t seem to be affected by Cowbell, so that is also a plus (But the Scorpion Tank’s shots become rediculous and can launch enemies out of the map, causing you to get stuck at a certain point in the mission, so do be careful).

If you want less predictability from the Promethians after these skulls are on, you can turn on Tough Luck as well, but that isn’t necessary. This method is also more forgiving than any method for said achievements that used the Iron Skull on Normal or Heroic Difficulty.

Hopefully that can stress the importance of those ammo crates and how they can play a role at making this level for the skull, intel, and other achievements easier.

I never knew about the amount crates when I got the skull. I never replayed the campaign so I barley remember. Was the skull hard to get on this lvl?

It wasn’t hard, it was just tedious doing it on Legendary, and annoying to have to shoot the Phaeton out of the sky before it shot the freighter down, then having to look in three different locations for said skull. The stationary ammo crates that give essentially limitless amounts of DMR/Battle Rifle/Magnum ammo help out alot as otherwise you run out of ammo frequently trying to get to the tank and have to face promethians moreso head on than at a distance. In the first area where you face promethians, you can head left up some stairs onto the higher ground where there are two Sniper Rifles. An Ammo crate should be across from them. You can face the Promethians here on the highest platform, or on the medium platform slightly below it, but do not try to take them on from ground level or in/on any of the buildings below. What I also recommend is fight all the promethians instead of prematurely opening the gate. The Incineration Cannon from the Knight can come in handy later.

The second ammo crate is optional as you can choose to run over crawlers and soldiers with your warthog, but still recommended, which should be to the right near one of the intel radios as soon as you come into the opening where crawlers and soldiers spawn in.Now after you go down the hill and clear out the remaining promethians helping the citizens there, they will open a gate for you. This is where the Incineration cannon comes in handy, charge it up as you walk forward across the bridge. The second you see the two Soldiers teleport in, fire it at the Warthog they’re going to Hijack. If done properly, at the very least it will kill the gunner, and in best case kill both soldiers, meaning they won’t be able to cause you a world of hurt being a driving firing bullet sponge.

Once they’re clear and you make it across the bridge is the third ammo crate, if you head up the stairs to the right onto the platform, note though that two promethian soldiers will spawn in upon reaching the top and two more should you go down the steps on the other side. At the top is the third ammo crate, which will allow you to use a Battle Rifle or DMR to plink off the promethians across the field at your leisure instead of having to try to rush in and kill them head on (Which also prevents the military citizen at the garage with the Rocket Launcher from having a chance of accidentally hitting you). Once you are sure all the promethians are dead, you can leisurely goto the garage, grab the scorpion tank and use it defensively, kind of like an explosive Sniper Rifle (As the armor on the Corp Scorpion is junk, especially on Legendary Difficulty) until you hit the checkpoint and then the area where you can try to shoot the Phaeton out of the sky before it takes down the freighter (Which you can revert to last checkpoint if you fail).Once you succeed, you can use the video I posted in my first post in this thread to find the Iron Skull

Once you hit the top of the hill afterwards (Note a soft kill barrier will enable behind you once reaching the top of the hill), you do not want to advance. Stay in the back of the area and have promethians pop out for you to shoot with the tank, have them come to you, don’t goto them. If you have a friend, there is a fourth ammo crate on the large platform to the right should they run out of ammo in a BR/DMR/Magnum, by going up the steps, but your friend should stay back with you unless they need the ammo or they are jeering the promethians out for you. Once the waves are completed if you didn’t shoot any promethians out of the map by mistake (It can happen, Cizlin and I found out the hard way when we glitched the mission this way and couldn’t complete it), you can complete the level, and if you did this on Co-Op with the five skulls I mentioned, you can get the Iron Skull as well as the Drop a Quarter, Up for a Challenge,The Tortoise, Party Hearty, and My Rules Achievements in one go, though depending on how good you and your friend is, it can take anywhere between an hour and a half to three hours.

Edit: I checked my runthrough, Tough Luck skull was also on, so that is also needed if you intend to get the achievements with the skull in one runthrough.

YouTube it if the IGN article doesn’t help
I know I did
I’m more of a visual guy.

The video from IGN was from Youtube, and it was visual. My explanation was not for the extra achievements beyond that, though it was a kind gesture. So to give a more detailed video for the OP on the Iron Skull from MythicTyrant, here (Click Meh!). Hope this helps The Spooky Fish .

It’s fine, I believe somebody else here in the thread asked to have another video posted anyways so it works. MythicTyrant is very descriptive with his walkthroughs, and this video can kind of match up to the cheevo advice I added in.
