Good move - Forge and Campaign Co Op are not required at launch. We can enjoy solo campaign and multiplayer, then jump into the Co Op and Forge stuff when it comes. Keeps things fresh over the first few months as well.
Glad that 343 management are wise enough to see this and are not delaying which would annoy 100% of the fan base.
I hope they launch without the Campaign. It can wait. Optional modes can wait. Keeps things fresh even longer.

False equivalence but being a baby works sometimes

Are you saying that the entirety of the Campaign is equal to multiplayer map editing and an optional mode for the Campaign?

Lots of people don’t play the campaign at all, just like lots of people don’t play coop campaign. Lots of people ONLY play campaign in coop. So, not a false equivalance. This isn’t some side thing like skulls or terminals. This is a core component of the campaign.
Maybe instead of mindlessly making up lame attacks against other people as a defense for Halo Infinite, maybe you should consider there’s merit to it, champ.

I’m saying Campaign isn’t complete without the thing that tons of people buy the game explicitly for. It is as much an optional mode as singleplayer campaign is an optional mode.
Most of people who got into Halo in the early days loved Halo for the ability to sit with a friend and play split-screen.

The co op campaign players will still have the solo campaign to play while they wait.
If the game is delayed, nobody can play campaign.
Im willing to bet that the number of people who play solo at launch (by choice or because of no co op) will hugely outweigh those who will purposely not play the campaign at launch and wait for co op.
A delay of the full game will annoy 100%
A delay of 2 features only will annoy a smaller number than 100%
I feel bad about it, but none of the changes has really affected me yet. I understand the backlash.
- No duel wielding–ok, but I know people miss it
- No playable elites- dont care, but there are elite clans that will bug
- No og pistol or shotgun-- not a deal breaker, but understand why people want them back, annoying
4.No assassinations- rarely use them in multiplayer, so dont care. Bummer, cause I’d use it in firefight
5.No campaign coop-dont care about the campaign, but this could have been a deal breaker in the og days of halo where I’d want to play with friends and enjoy the feel of halo 1 - reachs campaign together. This is the worst of the omissions so far, imo. HuGe.
- No forge- dont care. Dont use forge, but DEFINITELY understand people upset about it.
- Color and customization- from what I’ve seen, it’s awful, but I dont care cause I hit 152.
So really the only thing that’s horribly glaring is the omission of coop campaign at launch.
People are going to complain even more now since the fan backlash delayed the game once.
Not launching with coop campaign is puzzling since it was delayed.
What I’m worried about is gamemodes-types that we have no clue will be in the launch
Theater, firefight, stats? How many maps and gametypes? They added bots, so a plus, but what about btb, infection, etc?
Well see more from the next beta.
And maybe there are some GOOD surprises 343 has kept from us.

Oh, so they can spoil it for themselves and then not experience the story together? Great compromise.
You know why this is a dumb argument? Because if the roles were reversed and you had to play coop in order to play campaign, you would screeching how it’s unfair. And God forbid anybody said singleplayer was optional or that you could play coop while you wait. You would lose your mind.

lol yeah. No duh, Sherlock. That’s not a perceptive statement. “I bet people without hands buy less gloves.” You don’t say?

Wrong. These forums alone have proven that’s an absolute lie. This thread is a literal response thread to the backlash and demand on these forums to delay the game. You can’t worm your way out of this one. “100%” is 100% wrong.
theres a lot of games that are examples for what I think 343i is trying to do,
if they are going for the long run, mobile games are the best example, they dont release everything at launch, they release step by step,
hopefully they wont take Niantic’s way, of releasing something new every year and fill that same year with terrible events.
I’m saddened by the lack of coop - simply for the fact that my best friend and I have played thru the campaign of every halo since launch, but he can get over it because i’ll play solo until it comes out. I think they’re making the right decision here.
I can never tell if these threads are serious or just people trolling. People are gullible or delusional enough to be dead serious when saying these things.
Forge isn’t optional for the competitive scene or custom games scene.
343i are doing great in my book. Don’t you worry we will all buy your campaign DAY1 and all the new kids and fans will enjoy it. Stay on target for the 15th of November, the 20th anniversary of HALO and XBOX. Day 1 is going to be soooo sweet, you made over 90% of fans and Xbox gamepass subs excited.

and it’s coming. it’s not like they’re abandoning it. I’m hoping their 6 month timeline is being very conservative. I agree with OP - it’s a nice feature and we’ll definitely enjoy the fruits of it, but it’s not essential.
The Campaign is my favorite part of any Halo game, and I’m obviously biased because I almost never play co-op, but I hope they don’t delay it just for co-op or forge, I love forge, and co-op is great for some players, but it’s not worth delaying the game half a year for.

I agree, forge is a quality of life feature, and is important to the game, but it’s not going to kill infinite if it’s not their at launch, and co-op, yes it’s a bummer that it won’t be their either at launch but it’s not worth delaying half a year for.

I think you will find I wouldn’t be screeching anything. I would just play co op of that was the only option, because it’s better than having the game delayed.
100% is absolute, because a delay would affect everybody. There is no argument you can bring which changes that and seemingly 343 agree, so I don’t need to worm
my way out of anything.
