Am I the only one who thinks that having your Spartan do a dance or express an “emotion” or “idea” is much needed in HALO Infinite ?
When my side captured the Flag or won it’s round of Strongholds or lost aforementioned- it would have been so cool if our Spartan could do a Dance or do an action “to express the moment”.
Other Multiplayer games have emotes - The Division, Destiny, Fortnight, etc. - instead of having something as useless as “Eject Weapon” - why not have our Spartan do an Emote instead?
I’d prefer the idea of “taunts” than dances, but even then I’m not a huge fan. Customisation is great, but I’d rather it doesn’t interact with gameplay, which an emote of some kind would. It’d lead to 3-peeking like you see in destiny, and generally would just get annoying. Keep that for the pre and post game screens, the match should just be for gameplay.

3-Peeking in Destiny is only effective when you switch to a sword, where you’re put in a third person perspective holding a sword - trying to use an emote for 3-peeking essentially makes you a “sitting target”, as you’re essentially in one spot while doing the emote animation.
I doubt HALO will ever have that 3-peeking issue - besides being a “sitting target” when doing an emote, in past HALO games, when a Spartan got a Covenant energy sword, you were still in FPS mode, just like with the gravity hammer.
Speaking of energy sword - that add-on gadget “repulsor” is also quite useless and it would be nice if 343 would replace it with the Covenant energy sword instead, where your melee attack is replaced by an energy sword strike - it’s use limited to the amount of the energy sword gadgets you pick up (it’s a three use gadget, when you pick up 1 sword gadget - just like the grappling hook).
Yea. It would be so cool if we could buy these dances and emotes from 343 and use them before and after the game, even during the game would be so super duper cool!!!. Would really add to the customization. 343 should let us go crazy with what we can buy and edit. Would also really like to see customization to the rounds coming out of the weapons. Like change colors and effects, oh and edit our horns for the warthog also. Just some ideas.
im not an emote fan in general. Im fine with end game stances but emotes is just dumb (to be blunt). I dont want people emoting during a match, I dont want to see an animated emote at the end of the match.
During the match I don’t know, but in the camera of the winning team we definitely need different gestures and postures from the standard ones seen in flight
There’s been this growing trend that games becoming just silly and whacky over the course of their release that just… Ugh.
A couple of prime examples are Doom 2016 and Eternal which were full of silly dances and joke skins. Or just look back at Halo 5 with the Pizza AR…
Halo multiplayer’s tone is primarily about ego, and hype gameplay moments. And I just don’t see flossing at a corpse being as synonymous with cocky disrespect as parking your crotch in their face is.
I think most games do a bad job of emotes and make it something that completely clashes with the rest of the game. I’d be up for some simple emotes that do something like make one arm wave or make me jump and put my hands up. I don’t care much for dances, emotes should be casual and blend in with the rest of the game. It’s nice to gesture to connect with other players. In many games even the stuff that is close to that is locked behind a paywall so it’s a one-way street most of the time.
The only emote this game needs should be called: " vicious t-bag "
I’m sure you can guess what it consists of.
This will help keep a few thousand clicks off the button on my mouse.
Yeah. I think having your Spartan express emotions in the fashion of some sort of celebratory victory dance would make them loose their sense of “coolness”. I admire their stances and casual poses at the beginning of matches. That’s all that’s needed.

Anything that puts you in 3rd person is 3 peeking. Doesn’t matter if you’re armed or not - you’re still getting the advantage of being able to see what you wouldn’t normally be able to. People 3 peek in Destiny with swords that have no ammo, they’re rendered less combat effective but still do it. Anything like a emote that puts you in third person, regardless of having a weapon in your hand or not should not be in the game.
As for the repulsor, it’s not really useless - it just has limited use cases and is very effective within those scenarios. It’s likely more effective for skilled players more often than it would be for the average player.
Deflecting grenades & rockets. Launching players away from you or off the map. Throwing enemy vehicles away from you or off the map. Launching yourself upwards to get to higher ledges and essentially shortcutting your way around a map.
Having a 1 hit melee gadget like you’re described is probably the most unbalanced idea I’ve ever heard. People hated Spartan charge in Halo 5 as it was, now you’re suggesting something even more toxic.
Considered how often equipment spawns and what the purpose of equipment is…I can’t ever see that being added.
Not to mention the fact that the literal Energy Sword is in the game…

Maybe not in game but it would be cool to be to select a taunt or pose that’s displayed in the opening or ending of a game.
So at the start rather than your Spartan doing some random or generic intro pose (like cracking your knuckles) you can pick what your Spartan does instead.
Same for ending screen. Rather than the Spartans just standing there looking stoic it’d be nice to be able to select your end game celebration pose.

Yeah I am all for this. Feel like that will definitely be a feature.
