So just now I decided to boot up Halo 5 again after not really playing, due to getting a little hyped by the upcoming patch and knowing that Super Fiesta was back again. I mean, who doesn’t want to play Super Fiesta?
Anyway, so I go to start a game when I notice that I have 10 unopened packs. Weird, I expected to have like 3 or 4, but not 10. So I go check them out, and sure enough I find a couple daily login packs, the Greatest Hits Customization Pack and…5 Gold packs, and I have no idea how they even got there. I didn’t complete any commendations last time I played, none that would give me 5 gold packs anyway. The only commendations that I’m aware of that give gold packs are the Warzone Firefight ones, and I didn’t finish any of those. So I’m at a loss. I mean, I can’t complain too much, it’ll be nice to have the extra packs to open stuff once the update drops.
Has anybody else experienced this by any chance? Or have any idea of why it happened?

As I said, I have not. I double checked that just to make sure.

You have a couple of WZFF kill commendations completed, but I don’t know when you may have finished them. Otherwise, you know what they say about a gift horse…
have you ever tried opening a gold pack and gotten an error? I think sometimes those will show up again, even much later. It’s happened to me, just not 5 at once.

Seems like you have a head start at the next update then. I’ve noticed when I open req packs prior to a match I’ll get the ‘req pack warning.’ It’ll put them back in the queue and I’ll forget about them. Is it possible that is what happened?

I pre-ordered it from the Windows 10 Store, but I guess it’s really the same thing so you still get the gold packs from it? That must be it then, thanks!

I double checked the Halo Wars 2 page and it does mention some sort of pre-order bundle that you get in Halo 5, and upon further investigation it seems to be 5 Gold Packs. Thanks for the help!
