Tonight I had some extra time when my friends signed off after a couple hours of Arena. I wasn’t ready to hang it up, so in an attempt to get some more REQ points fast I signed on Warzone and expected to have to hold my nose as I shamefully played only for the points.
I had a blast.
Yes, I only played a handful of games, and my win % probably resembles more of a baseball batting average than something to be proud of, but I had a great time.
I get it’s not going to be for everyone, but just give it a shot. I was so sure I’d never get into it that I sold all my Warzone-only items to get armor, visors, etc. to use in Arena. So, I went in with little to no advanced weaponry and still competed and had fun. Before tonight in the handful of times I attempted Warzone, I stressed about making sure I used my REQs as often as possible that I didn’t realize you can eat pretty well with just a BR and something close range like a SMG. Yes, getting to use a sniper or rockets helps, but my best game tonight was while mostly using a BR.
Even if you’re an old Halo player like me (circa 2004) and think the concept of Warzone sounds terrible or have given it a few shots and not been impressed, give it enough time to know for certain. I almost missed out because I was quick to jump to an initial conclusion and stubborn. Just my experience. See you on the battlefield.
I like war zone but its not exactly casual, you have to be on you’re a game to get the high req levels and basically enjoy it which i think is its flaw.
Glad you enjoyed it.
You don’t need to use REQ cards to get power weapons you can sometime pick up some from the dead, just check how much ammo it’s got left!

You’ve been missing out dude.
Granted Warzone does have its flaws (like any game mode) but I find that the whole environment is much less stressful than Arena. Also you get more req points.
Power weapons/vehicles are not a necessity. I don’t really use them unless there isn’t much to be lost. Or if everything is already lost and I have an abundance of that particular item.
All in all Warzone is definitely fun and glad that you’ve finally got to experience it.
Yep, I personally needed to give some shots to Warzone before I fully understand its gameplay and to learn maps.
As people said before me, REQ cards aren’t really necessary unless you really want to get rid of a boss or some weird strategy (ex: Scout warthog and just harass enemy). A BR and SMG is way enough to do a lot of things.
Oh and, a little tip, don’t spawn high REQ cards unless your team isn’t hard losing (100 - 600 lol) and that the spawn area is clear. I remember destroying a Mantis right after it came out of its spawn field. I bet I made someone raging.
I was like that at first, I actually used to hate it, especially assault. But now, although I still prefer arena, I can happily play War zone for a few hours after work.
