Give us a reason to wait until May

I didn’t move the goalposts, lol.

Speaking of moving goalposts…

I stand corrected then.
Still don’t think Halo should follow that same f2p scheme, like I said, customization is a big part of what Halo is, taking that away from the players is not smart

It was in the store before the price reductions, so they didn’t want to lower the price since people bought it before

They should credit the people who bought it before when they finally decide on what the prices will stay at, and reduce the prices for those returning items.

That said, I said current week, but it’s actually last week now.
I forgot to check the shop earlier.

Let’s see what you originally asked for:

Then let’s see what additional stipulation you gave:

This is a textbook example of moving the goalpost.

You asked for games that gave away free premium currency. Warframe is not a game that gives away free premium currency. That’s not moving the goalpost.

That’s totally fine. I was initially responding to someone that said Infinite had a horrible F2P strategy, which isn’t true. I think there’s things they could improve upon (they’ve already committed to earning free credits in Season 2, which is gonna be one such improvement), but the bones of their F2P system aren’t the problem.

There’s a “real danger” that actual S2 content, or some of it, has been postponed and replaced with Co-op.

Additionally, BTB has worked for i343 in their internal tests but at patch releases it hasn’t really done anything to the playlist.
So, Co-op could replace stuff that was meant for S2, it could potentially be glitchy and buggy given the track record of previous releases and patches, or outright not work in many instances. It could affect campaign saves, cause the game to crash more and/or mess with a number of ingame things.
Any additional game modes added could break any playlist they’re implemented into.
Challenges could get worse if there’s no revamp of them, by not tracking at all.
A revamp of the challenge system and progression is an entirely different can of worms.

So to summarize:
Bare-bones update with broken Co-Op, faulty playlists, and affected challenge system / poorly made revamp.
We’ll however get some new cosmetic bundles.

Im dead thanks 343 im from Saudi Arabia playing 181 ms im so far from infinite servers and 343 has never mind for Arabic boys thanks Spartans

I’d definitely prefer more maps and store content that is permanently available for starters.

I’ll just say it, I straight up hate the rotating drip-feed store in its current state. I don’t really have issues with the pricing (I’m a minority there), just the limited rotating access to content that appears locked for the time being.

I understand the game needs to stretch its life cycle as much as possible but the whole “10 year plan” is a farce. This game won’t last 2 years if there isn’t a rapid and impactful change implemented soon in either performance or content drops.

drip feeding the player base will kill it.

(As it is currently doing)

I also understand these implementations take time but c’mon… 2 months to fix ONE single game mode when there is barely any game modes to even begin with. The content available in halo infinite is feels like 1/10th in comparison to other games that had 1/4 of the production time.

I hate to be the “we want more & we want it now” but I just simply want this game to survive that is all… I can’t see another halo/master chief FPS getting launched anytime soon at least for the projected “10 year plan” when I assume the series will get rebooted.

l love halo. But watching your favourite franchise take its last stab in the dark to save its integrity and become the king once again is nothing more than a dream. It’s dying. Fast & we need some new air back in this game ASAP

PROBLEM 1 - no challenge swaps:

I used all my challenge swaps and am now stuck with really difficult challenges or those in game modes I don’t play.

SOLUTION
I’d like swaps for challenges completed. The daily specifically. That way I can gather up the weeklies until the next event (swat - yuk!) drops or until the next battlepass arrives. Alternatively remove objective variants from the challenge list (I’d rather you did the prior suggestion personally)

PROBLEM 2 - map fatigue

I play exclusively 4v4 as I don’t like BTB. I am getting fed up of launch site and behemoth. They’re too big, frustrating with vehicles and spawn distances, and I seem to be coming up with these maps too often.

SOLUTION

Forge us some variants, introduce some play tester maps, bring back the veto system. There has to be someone creating forge maps before it’s release…maybe try some out in a “beta playlist”.

**PROBLEM 3 - cosmetic content shortage lack of value **

I have completed the battlepass and the events to date, now tenrai is here and I have neither this nor the battlepass to complete. The weekly challenges are all I have left as far as unlocks are concerned and, to be honest, an emblem for that grind (in particular with the issues mentioned in problem 1) is massively dissatisfying.

SOLUTION - multiple suggestions

Bring back the halo reach inheritor system. Let that be displayed on my nameplate. Provide me with some basic unlocks based on this system.

Playlist based challenges could allow me to unlock these small rewards for play within specific playlists; rather than being lumped together. The reward is small, so the real benefit would be from unlocking challenges for all playlists; this keeping numbers up. In addition, it keeps fireteams at multiple progression stages working together with regards to playlist selection. Downside is - probably a lot of coding required.

Colour sets / armour coatings. This is what I really want. This, stances, visor colours. Weapon colours for specific weapons are a bit naff and spartans have a choice of grey with red highlights, or bright pink from the cyber event and washed out blue from the tenrai. Where are the purple and yello mixes? The blue/orange mixes, the chrome, the wood, the electric blue…also WHITE! We need more colour options that span multiple cores, at the moment the only way to obtain these is through payment and I feel the bar for the shop should be set MUCH higher. Check APEX skins for example, FORTNITE skins. They’re amazing. Halo skins are mostly colour mixes that one shouldn’t have to pay for.

I doubt 343i will retain most of their fans till they make a big content drop or someone else picks up their slack.
But if world events and vacations keep happening guess season 2 will be in 2023.

There are just better games out there with better supplementary content options, they’re trying to milk a fanbase without providing a robust reward system,

I want a Spartan that looks like a boss, not a samurai armour that comes in multiple variants of grey and washed out blues and greens.

They should close the shop for three months - provide all the planned content for free through challenges etc. then they should bring the shop back with better content and continue the current bogus level of content for another 6 months. Rinse and repeat.

Oh yeah - and I’m dying for a community forged map playlist

Warframe allows players to trade many items they earn through playing for platinum, you can actually earn it without investing real world money. The only cost is a players time.

I would support Halo Infinite doing that tbh. Warframe has an excellent in game economy. It allows players the opportunity to get almost everything by playing without investing money.

If Forge doesn’t release in 2022 or they charge for it, 343 will have lost the right to manage the Halo franchise. I love Infinites core gameplay, but it’s not enough to defend such a lack of foresight and content.

Halo cannot stay free to play unless the content backs it up, and all the free to play competitors are doing it better than Halo.

I just want a ranked Slayer or lone wolves playlist. I can’t mentally handle objective for much longer.

No. That is not an example of “giving away free premium currency.” All the platinum that you can earn for “free” was bought and paid for by someone else.

You’d never say that Halo Infinite gave away free premium currency if I loaded up your account and bought $50 worth of Credits using my card.

I’m about to put the game down until they fix the servers. The sync issues are annoying and I’m not really having fun.

AMEN!! BROTHER! ME TOO!! :fist_right: :fist_left: We also need a Custom Game Browser!! :metal: But 343i Has to fix the Custom Games Area First!

Side Note: Wish we had our own Dedicated Server Software like we had with Halo Combat Evolved, Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 H.O.

Give us Forge, and I guarantee there will be Forge Blood Gulch BTB servers running within a week or two either on Beer Keg, Discord, or Xbox LFG, and I’ll play that any day, rather than the awful Infinite matchmaking BTB

I honestly can’t trust 343 to make a Blood Gulch port anyway, or any Bungie maps. Forge map makers are usually very picky with making things feel as close as possible to the original. 343 would try to change the classic Bungie maps to fit sprint and grapple, but they don’t need tweaking. Playing Forge classic ports to scale with new abilities is what makes them interesting in 3, Reach, 4, and 5 Forge customs. The fact that people remade it in every game just goes to show that it’s a very loved map.

I cannot in good faith say that 343 would do it justice. 343’s meddling is exactly why BTB is so bad in Infinite. 4 was rough, 5 was okay, Warzone was pretty cool, but Infinite BTB is trash. I am not at all looking forward to whatever maps 343 adds to the game in future seasons.

Read again, I never said it was. Merely pointing out you can get platinum without spending a penny yourself. You can also earn everything from playing or invest in platinum but you don’t have to. I like the system and I would be happy if Halo f2p was similar.

Speaking of “read again” let’s see what you replied to:

And what I said earlier:

So if your statement doesn’t contradict anything that I said, two things:

A. Why are you even commenting on my post?

B. I don’t care. If I make a statement that the sky is blue, and your reply is as irrelevant as “ah yes, but grass is green.” Then I just don’t care.

This is absolutely incorrect. There are multiple premium purchase only items, including cosmetic prime access attachments and items in the store that can only be purchased with real money, not platinum.

Everyone seems to be forgetting the most important update and the main reason to wait until May…the visor alignment issue! lol
