Well, there’s something more than $12 in the shop now.
I guess they’re done trying to adjust the prices because it’s back to 2,000 for an armor set bundle.
There’s still a lot of good armors and other items they could release.
If they say they’re done because they lowered it once, that would be very low of them.
the only ones that I can think of are fortnite and league… But even then they have earnable currency and league has chests you can get by playing that can reward $20 skins, both old and new content.
Apex, CSGO- Sure, $2.50 per pack but you can get something really freakin SICK for $2.50, not constantly get battered by “wow that skin looks cool here’s my $20- wait, its next week and that skin looks cool too, here’s $10- wait, that helmet looks mighty fine, lemme give you 7$”
and yeah earnable credits coming in S2, so. Problem solved? Doesn’t really help anyone until then.
Dangerous question to raise, there are def topics of discussion banned on this site with no clear given reason, and we almost never get dev replys here
This is actually a good point. I don’t think 343i employees actually use this forum.
I frequent the Steam forums. There’s a single moderator who is active (there are others) but other than that I’ve seen Postums himself post three times total.
I think we should consider making Reddit accounts to post on Reddit if we want 343i to see what we say. 343i “hosts” things and announcements here but only Reddit ever gets replies by staff. They even have a bot to make staff responses pinned at the top of a thread if they reply to it.
Edit: I must say that I dislike Reddit a lot. I somewhat regret what I said here but I do think that 343i employees read Reddit more than their own forums.
Neon blast also wasnt a legendary, it was an epic bundle, those tenrai effects were legendarys, and then that last one had almost all the content stripped out of it like the halo ring and flaming arms
I think people forget that games on launch have never been perfect and everyone is always -Yoink!-. stop comparing games that have been out for years to ones that are recently launched it just makes you look stupid.
Infinite definitely has problems but 343 never even actually started working on the updates until mid january. Everything you are complaining about is being heard, if you keep up with their responses to the community you would realize this.
Am I upset? sure, it definitely doesn’t feel great when everything seems to go bad in a game with high ping, desync and the problematic melee not always registering. The sandbox also needs tuning but you have to realize that they are aware of these issues. But you have to realize that these changes take time, you act as if they can fix everything in a few days. There is just so many things in different categories that they are working on.
All of this complaining about cosmetics and other stuff that has hardly anything to do with gameplay needs to be put on the backburner because the core gameplay is what is going to keep people around, not your cat ears and sparkly walking trail.
They were adjusted and then they resold parts of a bundle individually that ended up being more than what it was originally if you bought them individually.
Infinite doesn’t have Forge, co-op, Firefight, etc., things that were at release in other Halo games after the features were introduced aside from 5 (I think), and what is there is buggy and limited.
Infinite should have been an improvement, but it’s taken many steps back for only a few steps forward.
The shop changes likely aren’t being worked on by the people trying to fix the gameplay.
There’s no need for the shop complaints to be put on the back burner.
While this could be a salient point, you’re actually shooting yourself in the foot. If your argument is that the cost of the effect is determined entirely by rarity, then that means: You can’t actually claim the store prices haven’t been reduced based on the mythic effect items, since we don’t have a one to one comparison of a legendary mythic effect vs another legendary mythic effect.
Also it would be a shame if I could just look up other things based on rating and see what the prices look like. Let’s see if your rarity argument holds water, eh?
Lucky Blue Pack: 800 Credits. 1 Rare Color (Untethered Wind), 1 Epic Visor (Koban)
Ancient Spirit Pack: 700 Credits. 1 Epic Color (Ancient Flare), 1 Legendary Visor (Spirit)
Weird… The pack with the greater rarity items costs 100 credits less… Both bundles were also marked as rare in the store. So your whole point about rarity is moot. The only thing we can go on is what they’re charging like for like.
And speaking of Visor/Color combos. After the switch we got the Cosmic Goblin for 400 credits.
By stripped do you mean they sold the mythic effect as an individual item like the community asked them to start doing?
A non-FOMO layout where items are always available, the ability to buy individual items in the bundles (which isn’t needed if the items are always available), and greatly reduced prices for individual and bundled items.
Those are what people asked for.
What we got instead was a week with reduced yet still overpriced items, and a week with individual items but no bundles or price reductions.
Now it seems to have gone mostly back to what it was.
This would likely take some extra UI work and thus it’s understandable that it hasn’t been implemented. I agree there should be an evergreen part of the store, but timed content doesn’t bug me.
Disagree about the second half in parenthesis, but the way it should work is that there are bundles and once you enter the bundle you should be able to pick and choose what you want to buy (ala Sea of Thieves). I agree about single items and have been asking for them since November.
Prices across the board look like they’ve been reduced. Every now and again there’s an item or a bundle that pops up with a bigger price tag, but for the most part things are looking cheaper.
I was addressing a very specific claim made by a very specific person, and you hit me with that “Missed the Point” reaction on my post. I set you to ignore a long time ago, but for some reason this forum still let me know that you reacted to my post. Up until now you’ve been invisible to me and it’s been great.
It’s good to know that I made the right call, because literally nothing in your response has anything to do with the points I was making as a direct response to that other person. The other person responded to my post with a lie, I addressed that lie, then they tried to use a really bad example, and all I had to do was pull up old store data. Nothing you said has anything to do with the points I was making.
So, having confirmed that you’re still not worth interacting with, I’ll go ahead and set you back to ignore. Happy Tuesday!
No one is asking for an insanely cheap store, we are asking for a fair priced store
It actually is though. Give me 1 successful f2p game that locks 90% of the cosmetics behind a paywall and doesn’t award you free credits
The next “Major” content update is S2 but we are getting a content update this month, probably either with the Feb 14. patch or Feb 21. Although, there is a chance it comes March 1.
POE has playercount surges but it isn’t very successful compared to Fortnite, Warzone, or Apex Legends.
Warframe doesn’t lock 90% of the cosmetics behind a paywall, it just has a big grind. There is a difference between having a big grind and a paywall.
Do you even know what paywall means?
Not to mention, both of those games didn’t have games before it, so they aren’t held to as high a standard. The reason people are so upset about the predatory monetization is because, the customization/cosmetics is because they were free in previous games, now, you barely get anything for free
This is like saying someone with a hundred million dollars isn’t successful because Jeff Bezos exists. Path of Exile is incredibly successful. I think in their 2020 financial disclosure they reported something like a hundred million dollars in revenue, with $50 million in profit.
Oh yeah? So the majority of cosmetics can be purchased with credits and crafting items and not Platinum? I’ll admit it’s been a while since I loaded into the game, which I have over 1000 hours in, but every single cosmetic item in the store cost Platinum and not credits. Every now and again you could snag a cosmetic blueprint for a helmet, typically from an event, and you could grind mats for that item. But the majority of the cosmetics that I remember in that game, like armor attachments and skins, absolutely cost platinum.
And each time they release new prime updates, the cosmetics are always absolutely locked behind a paywall (unless that changed in the last year or so)
Just because you can trade platinum between players doesn’t mean that constitutes as “free” premium currency. The only way platinum is injected into the economy is when players take out their wallets. The game doesn’t give you “free” platinum.
Kinda rich coming from the guy that thinks Path of Exile, which absolutely stomped the biggest ARPG series into the ground (Diablo) isn’t a successful game because it isn’t as big as Fortnite.
Nah nah nah. You asked for a successful F2P game that locks cosmetics behind paywalls and I gave you two. Don’t try moving that goalpost when you realized they actually exist.
If the items are always available, picking them out of bundles wouldn’t be any different from finding them in the shop.
Far better than picking them from bundles.
They’re still overpriced, and the current week’s armor set is 2,000 credits again.
I tend to not ignore people, but that’s just me.
Maybe I’d have lower blood pressure if I just ignored everyone I didn’t agree with though…

Which isn’t what people asked for, and that’s what I replied to.
