Give us a good game. Stop advertising Pro-League

No one cares about the Pro-League. This game is too focused on being competitive only that the fun is utterly taken out. Stop advertising the Pro-League, and give us something fun: oddball, ricochet, dominion, classic playlist, and so on. I’m not against competitive playlists, but competitive only??? This is terrible. I’m tired of winning/losing so many games because my team sucks, or the team we’re pared against are god players. I’m tired of players leaving the game all the time. I tired of winning/losing because we were mismatched. I tried to give 343 a THIRD chance; but, after reliving the classic Halos recently, I now hate 343 even more.

Don’t say BTB. BTB is utter crap. I didn’t pay the community to create BTB maps. On top of that, 343 picked the worst out of the community maps to play on. Most of them are just larger slayer maps. The only few maps that I don’t mind playing on (classic remakes… go figure) you never get to play on. BTB is dead.

Don’t say Warzone. Everyone has learned how to beat the maps to the point where most games end fast due to a core destruction. Also, I’m burnt on warzone. I’ve played the same three maps for months now. They did add two new maps, but they aren’t that great at all. I’m not going to say warzone is dead, but it’s not satisfying anymore.

Come on now, some of the community made maps are better then most of 343’s maps.

This should not be true, but it is.

Last time I checked, you’re not everybody. You are you, and you sir are a spanner.

Everything here is true, its sad but it’s true. That’s one of my main complaints: the community maps. Your right, I didn’t pay $100 to play on community made maps. Also infection has them too!

Grifball, infection, fiesta, super fiesta, weekly social playlist, BTB, Warzone, warzone assault. Those are the social modes (I may have missed a few). Don’t forget about the upcoming warzone firefight either. The game wasn’t very social at launch but now it’s very social. The HCS was there to popularize halo, and in my opinion, it worked to an extent.

Agreed. Sadly 343 has yet to realize that Halo will never survive when it abandons the casual player. Sure it might be popular on the esports scene, but Halo 2, 3 and Reach stayed at the top or near the top of Live for a long time because they offered something for everyone AT LAUNCH. The casual player isn’t going to wait 6 months to play infection/grifball.

Warzone doesn’t replace Firefight, nor do I consider it to be all that casual considering the playlist is filled with people farming for some pixels they’ll never see in first person. Forge BTB with it’s broken spawns and bland maps doesn’t even come close to the fun even Halo 4’s BTB, let alone Halo 2 or Halo 3’s.

This is a good game, and I care about pro league.

Halo almost died when it abandoned competitive players in Reach and H4. Welcome to our lives.

I also care about the pro league but what does it have to do with them not having other playlist/gametypes?

They still offered plenty of competitive gametypes. I really enjoy Halo Reach MLG. Previous Halo’s didn’t leave out Forge for 3 months or Infection/Grifball for 5-6 months(Two of the highest played playlists in any Halo game which they were featured in). It didn’t hold out on a gametype like Fiesta which is nothing more than a simple custom game option, randomized spawn weapons. Then advertise it like it is some big addition. I personally like competitive more than casual. That said, previous Halo’s felt like a complete game at launch. Halo 5 felt like an empty shell for too long that most of the long time casual fans left.

I have to agree there was way too much missing.

Yep so social but still keeps the asinine ban hammer for ranked playlists. 343 has no idea what social is.

A banhammer for ranked playlists? That sounds pretty reasonable to me.

People wanted them to be competitive so they became competitive.

Halo 5 is a good game.

Seemed to handle it pretty well to me. Maybe the flow of try-hard money dried up but the game itself seemed alright…

The competitive side of Halo is what always gave it its edge above the rest… The competitive support is fantastic. This game was designed for eSports and it shows. The real issues H5 has lie outside of the gameplay… it’s in how content is produced and handled, online playlists included. It effects social and competitive gamemodes, but neither are to blame for the game’s shortcomings. The root cause lies with content policies.

Eh, I haven’t been on Halo 5 for a while, busy with semester finals, but I’m pretty sure the game modes like Fiesta and Social Fiesta only show up once in a blue moon. I’d still argue that it isn’t very social still, since Grifball and Infection are the current permanent social playlist and then we have a rotating weekly playlist; this compared to the 5 ranked competitive playlists. Personally, I still wish they implemented a Ranked set of playlists, and a Social Unranked set of playlists, like in Halo 3. But oh well, can’t change that now… unless, well, they change it in a future update.

Yeah, played on I think it was the Sand Trap remake… was better then most of the maps I have played on, half the reason I stay out of Arena.

I do feel bad for kids who want to hop on and casually play and not try super hard…

You cant even search warzone alone unless you accept that you will get farmed heavily within your first hour of playing. Happens everytime i search alone, sometimes back to back games So i only search with full groups now if i do warzone.
