Well as most (probably all) of you should know, the armour variant “Recon” was given to all players on Halo 3. It’s now accessible in the appearance editor, without having the need to go and unlock all the original “Road to Recon” achievements.
I was one of the players who had Recon before this event, and after hearing what happened, i wasn’t a happy bunny at all. I had spent hours on this achievements and was proud to show it off with my Recon armour, but now it’s just as common as Hayabusa used to be. All that hard work has gone down the drain, everyone has Recon.
If 343i had decided to make some sort of new armour variant, and gave that to everyone (like, let’s say, the Bungie body?), i wouldn’t be annoyed as i, or anyone else, hasn’t been trying extremely hard to get it, and it wouldn’t be like a huge middle finger like this event. So why don’t 343i add some sort of Road to Recon accessory, like Recon used to be, that is only available to all the true holders?
Also, no biased comments saying you don’t think it’s a good idea when you haven’t interpreted how most of the genuine Recon holders feel. View it from our point of view, first.
What do you think on this? Do you think they should ‘say sorry’ by doing something along the lines of this?
To be perfectly honest, the people who got it from the Vidmasters deserve nothing, it is those who earned it from Bungie before the Vidmasters who deserve something, but Bungie decided against it.

Same for those who earned Recon back when it was rare, they were screwed, same goes for the original All-Star nameplate owners, they got screwed over when Bungie gave it all to everyone via the Bungie app.

You didn’t really spend hours for those items, but if i was one of them, i would be annoyed. I wouldn’t have minded not getting Recon if you still had to be a “Bungie favourite”, those people had earned it fair and square, but they should’ve at least got something extra when Bungie did screw them over.

Instead of thinking like that maybe 343 can stop the “screwing” over instead and show they really care?
im sort of happy they did this , i was on ’ the road to recon ’ when this bungie to 343 transfere happend , and i had all but endure ,witch we had tryed many times , every time someone laged out , so after 3 attements no one was willing to continue , so now i have what i wanted im very happy , and i wouldn’t mind if they did give somting to old recon hollders , aslong as it was accesible to the new players aswell

-Yoink- you little moa this guy is right, i dont even have recon and i completely agree with him.
Think about it with an open state of mind, what do we deserve?
The people who got Recon before the Vidmasters earned it, it was EXTREMELY HARD to get, the Vidmasters could be completed in a day if you did it on the 7th of the month and had a team together, that doesn’t deserve red flames in the slightest.
I earned my Recon the legit way, through Vidmasters and hard work.
And I honestly don’t want anything. For one, it’s an empty prize considering I don’t take Halo 3 multiplayer seriously anymore, so it’s like Nintendo suddenly offering the Celebi event in the American Pokemon Crystal, well thats awesome and all but I don’t play Crystal and doesn’t help me in my current Black/White games.
Secondly, I don’t wanna be looped in with the stereotype outlook on people who have the Vidmaster as “Whiners who are mad at 343”
