Give noobs a chance, please make the TTK longer

You die really fast in this game, and along with the near-useless radar and hitscan (and incredible range on the BR) it makes for an easy game for veteran players to destroy noobs. I can deal with forge maps, no voting, missing playlists, even a mediocre campaign, but not fast TTKs. Next Halo game please return to the old-style, plus you can say that the Spartan IVs is the reason why the TTK is faster (in H5), so for Halo 6, how about Spartan IIs again?

Long too late for requests like this now.

Spartan class has nothing to do with TTK.

I say we go back to CE’s TTK

You make the TTK longer, I’ll still hit more shots and take you out faster…

This would solve nothing and just make the game frustrating… in a bad way.

I agree. Slower TTK is more friendly to newer players and allows the outcomes of battle rifle duels to be determined more by who’s a better shot than by who surprised who.

But according to the community, Spartan-IIs are leagues ahead of Spartan-IVs, which means that kill times should be faster than those of Call of Duty.

Spartan IVs are the future, like it or not. And i don’t really think that Spartan IVs are the reason TTK is faster. I don’t really mind the TTK, as long as it’s not a twitch shooter like That CoD garbage, I’m happy.

I disagree. I was a serious noob back in the Reach days, and even with those hella long TTKs I had a hella of a time. It seems to me more shots to kill means more difficult for the new player.

yes

Actually, I think you’re right. Slower TTK means a higher learning curve. But in my opinion, it’s worth having the outcome of gun battles determined less by who can sneak up on who. That’s just my opinion, though.

Here’s a funny story, my dad plays Call of Duty all the time (gag) and sometime when I go to his house, he asks me to play it with him. So there I was playing Call of Duty after being used to Halo and I’m all like, “where is the motion tracker, how do I know when I’m about to get into a fight with a bad guy, oh my gosh where are they shooting me from!?” It honestly felt like a big game of hide-and-seek with guns.

Then I bring over Halo and make my dad try it out. He’s all like “oh my gosh I shot that guy like three times and he didn’t die, what the heck! The bad guys don’t die when I shoot them so much, oh my gosh!”

The moral of the story is that slower TTK means higher learning curve (read: skill gap) but it makes it so Halo isn’t just a big game of “who shoots first” and I would prefer it to stay that way, personally.

Assault rifle and SMG were underpowered in halo 3, I’d rather not have that again.

You do realize that a longer kill time means you need to land more shots in order to kill someone (bad for noobs), and if you are ever in a gunfight with weak shields, you will almost never kill the enemy, even with a good strafe and aim.

You can’t because of sprint and the other movement mechanics. It’s already easy to disengage and run from people. The longer the TTK, the easier it gets.

I agree that ttk needs to be extended along with motion tracker, however longer ttk are not more noob friendly. Just look how noobs usually like to play swat.

Slower time to kill would just make this game worse. It’s already bad with people being able to escape gun fights with all the movement options.

Exactly. I don’t know why people think longer TTKs will make newcomers better players. It may in the long run because you have to rely on your shot more but less TTK should be friendlier to those who are less skilled. Plus the AR, SMG, etc. are all pretty simple to use and efficient.

Listen, no one can cross the middle of the map anymore in BTB without getting absolutely mauled because of the range of the BR and the short TTKs to boot. That’s not fun for newcomers or anyone, and it’s something the Halo vets aren’t used to.
