Give me my money back

I have paid $60 for a product that is not at all what I purchased. This is an absolute joke and at the moment, 343I has simply stolen all our money. I would like a complete refund so that I can go purchase COD. I will most likely never play halo again. A few years ago, I voiced my frustrations at the lack of professionalism and knowledge at 343I that, from the day it took over halo from Bungie, has deteriorated the game to the point it is at now. 343I I’m sorry to say is a pathetic company and pales in comparison to other video game creators. Never in my life have I experienced such a pathetic rollout. And not only that but it has been nearly a week since rollout and still these problems are not fixed. There are so many problems, I foresee many weeks before they are able to fix them. This game should never ever ever have been rolled out in this fashion. It is an insult to all consumers and halo fans.

Poll Question: should all purchasers of this new Halo MCC be refunded their money? Or given some other type of compensation for paying for something that was not provided?

We should all get 70$ back and keep the game till it’s 100% fixed just my opinion.

UPDATE: would prefer not to do this but as halo clearly does not function and should never have been released, I am returning the game to Gamestop in exchange for the new C.O.D. Just spoke with the manager at Gamestop who said he is aware of the issues and will gladly exchange the game. All purchasers of this game should be able to do this where they purchased the game. If they are not able to, 343I should be responsible for performing a recall of all discs and provide a refund when the game is returned. Just like when a child’s toy is recalled due to dangers, this game should be recalled ad it simply does not function.

343I way to go for ruining the Halo brand and good luck in coming back from this one while there are so many other great games out right now. I called your pathetic company out a few years ago with polls that were all in my favor…to the point where you banned me from the forums. Well this is what you get for not listening to your consumers. I believe I am the one who is most definitely laughing last now. Hahaha 343I you are a wretched incapable thief and you should be sitting alongside Madoff for this heinous crime.

343 should just recall every copy and give everyone free DLC for life and working games.

Do you have any idea how much time and work was put into making this game? Also how much time is being put into fixing this? Its not like halo is all about the multiplayer experience (actually it basically is) but maybe you should spend some time on the campaigns, the story line is pretty damn good

I’m not able playing Single Player at all it’s 100% broken just like online.

The fact that it is broken at all, which you confirmed, warrants a recall. When you purchase something and pay full price, you should receive a full product. This is a half baked product and should not have been released and should be recalled immediately, refunds issued, and once the game is fully functional, re-released to the public.

If you would like a refund, you should contact the retailer you purchased the game from.

Actually, what you purchased is exactly what you paid for. You may have intended to pay for something different, but nobody made you buy the game when you did. 343i is in no way responsible that you purchased the game as soon as it came out. Your own preference is at fault just as much as the game’s flaws. You don’t deserve a refund simply because you didn’t get everything your way. They’re working as hard as they can to fix the game, they didn’t steal your money, and moaning about this will do precisely nothing to fix the issue.

Why would this be needed? The retailer is just a middle man. You should be able to do either or. Example if you buy an HP, Apple, or DELL computer are you going to go back to Walmart for support(unless you’re old I’m sure you’re not going to GeekSquad)? Most retailers will no longer give back full refunds on games or computer software that has been opened. No matter how much you -Yoink- about a product it’s policy. I have heard that some people are able to get a full refund from GameStop, however I have not heard of any cases in person, but from post I have seen.

I’m debating on calling up Microsoft XBL support for a refund on my DigiDL, the only thing stopping me right now is that there are no other games I want.

you know these guys are just fresh accounts trolling right?

You don’t deserve a refund simply because you didn’t get everything your way.
HUH?..Everything his way?..You mean expecting a fully functional game?
WTF…the future of this country is in BIG trouble…

i’d love to see you go into business with that philosophy. welcome to the real world where if you scam people you get sued. 343 hides behind a huge corporation that probably spends 100x as much money avoiding litigation as they did on MCC.

you will not be so lucky my friend. time to grow up

not only did they steal his money but they stole money from everyone that purchased this game.

BocaChief take your trolling somewhere else. Let’s kill this pointless thread already please.

To the OP and all the other immature 10 year olds that go and pre-order or fully prepay a piece of software in this day and age where these shenanigans from developers are all too common: go and cry more. If you can’t be intelligent customers that can be bothered to wait and compare several reviews for the product BEFORE spending then a single cent, then you gets what’s comin’ to ya.

That said, please, go to GameStop and get that refund and send us a copy of the receipt while you’re at it. I’d dearly love to see if you put your money where your mouth is when laying out all that BS.

it likely wouldn’t have mattered if he had pre-paid or not. quick look at all the mainstream review sites you’ll see OBVIOUSLY PAID OFF 8/10 and 9/10 reviews across the board. so anyone that waited to purchase this game could have just as easily been scammed through microsofts MANY embargoes with mainstream gaming critics.

this is a plain and simple scam. it’s as if i bagged someones groceries and when they got home the bags were full of rocks. you have to be 10 years old not to see that fact

single player is not broken, and good. take the game back. one less cry baby to worry about. the community is cleaning itself up guys!!!

have fun with the new cod to. just as many issues with lag as this game has issues. trade in a broken game for another broken game. priceless.

this guy was one of the guys that came into halo at reach… no wonder hes returning it. so many non true halo fans running around spreading heresy. Get The F*** Out.

Agreed, there are biased reviewed, and there are others not ad biased. Gamespot’s praised what was good and thrashed what didn’t work and gave it a 6/10. There are similar less forgiving reviews and if you know there’s a prolonged review embargo, then that’s never a good sign. Regardless, the developers’ and retailers’ rabid pre-order sales strategy should note be called into question. I can’t remember the last time I preordered a game and rest assured, I’ll never do so again. I won’t spend a cent on a game until I know it’s anything short of spectacular as per several sources, reviewers and players alike.

The situation with MCC is lamentable. I squarely blame -Yoink!- because, frankly, the buck stops there. If they want their game to come out at a certain date, it will come out, regardless whether it’s ready or not. 343I had no choice but to toe the corporate line and do everything in their power to make the software functional (remember, they had to retrofit software code previously written for two different console architectures into an entirely different and untested new architecture and add additional tweaks to it). If someone at 343 said that the game simply wasn’t going to be ready for the Holiday 2014 date MS promised and The Powers That Be simply said “We Don’t Care”, what the hell were they going to do about it? Bite the hand that feeds them and rebel? Please. MCC isn’t the first game to suffer such treatment and it won’t be the last. Some people need to get over their little entitled selves, take a chill pill and relax.
