Give each player a room.

Got an idea here, I think it’d be awesome if they gave each of us a room.
This room would serve as the menu for multiplayer.
Everytime we end a game, we’d go back to it.
It’d be big enough for us to walk in and if we wanted to send a message to friends, we can do it using a console in the room.

To go to War games, you simply have to access the War games console on the side(You have different consoles for different functions) and it will show you the different play-lists as well as other things. And before the loading screen, there’d be a short cinematic of you walking to the War Games deck.

The 2nd console that’s in the room will allow you to contact friends as well as viewing all your stats and seeing which maps you play the most, which weapon you use the most etrc…

On the 3rd console there will be all the tutorials and tips as well videos to help you learn the maps. You will also be able to access the Halo enclopedia and even Halo Waypoint.

In this room, we can customise our equipment and weapons, there’d be a workbench where we do this. Every action your Spartan does to the weapon is visual; When you take a scope off, your Spartan also does that.
If you go to the wardrobe/closet, it switches to third-person and you can try different armour sets.

Our recently/Most used armour sets would be hung up on walls. This makes the room more distinct as well as other things.
Also our favourite load out would be on the wall too as well as our most favourite power weapon(Roleplaying purposes).

There’d be a bustle-kind of sound going on outside the room to show you the ship is living and that there are plenty of people walking around.

Every now and then, a holographic announcer of the captain would appear (Like Cortana but of the captain this time) to tell you what the going-ons of the ship are today. It’d be random, he’d say things like “Good morning, this is the captain speaking here”. And he’d even give speeches sometimes.
There’d be things you’d expect from a bedroom; A bed, a bathroom, a mirror and even a futuristic TV.
There’d be a nice view too, one of whichever place the Infinity is in.
(Here’s the best part though, the view of the Infinity (ie: where the Infinity is) depends on where you are in the campaign or Spartan Ops.)

You’d be able to transfer to better and bigger rooms with better views with your Spartan Points, I think that feature is brilliant. You’ll be able to change colours of the room too, but you have to unlock them first.

The TV could be a mini feature where you can view Famous Halo-Web-Series such as Arby N the Chief or Red Vs Blue. Or even general Halo machinimas in particular.
Another thing! You’ll be able to watch Live MLG matches from there.

Some people may say I don’t want to walk around to do things we have menus for, well the room won’t be THAT big :stuck_out_tongue:

The idea of this is to even more incorporate the multiplayer and the Story while making the player feel like they are in a persistent world. It is really good for Roleplaying. Also you get the feeling you are part of the bigger picture.
A lot of people have said, why not implement the full Infinity for players to be in and I know that is very difficult to do, so I think this to be a better alternative.

If you guys can think of even more features that can be done with this then please suggest them!

If we can get enough support for this, then maybe 343 will implement this. That is of course if you guys like it.

Btw, sorry if I’ve made grammar mistakes. Typing on the IPad sucks :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah id be cool. id be like Phantasy Star

Waste of space and time, you can do all of these things from the menu without having to load anything.

I would personally love this idea but I could never imagine it in Halo in all honesty. I feel like each Spartan IV wouldn’t get their own room aboard the infinity… i mean its possible, theres supposedly 17,000 people on it. I saw another idea saying something similar like having the option of exploring a few rooms of the infinity with a place to stay. idk, I know this will most likely not make it into Halo 4 but nonetheless, its a cool idea.

Yeah, closest thing I can think of is Bioshock 2. Sounds cool, perhaps some things wouldn’t be necessary, I mean streaming an episode of Arby n the Chief or RvB would takeup alot. But overall I like the idea a lot hahaha.

In my opinion it really turns the whole sci-fi action game into a RPG game and I don’t think they would want that.

But it would be cool if they put RvB episodes and other stuff in the theater

I think it’d just switch over to the the Youtuhpbe page on Internet explorer.

Not really, doesn’t really affect gameplay at all. Just makes it seem more real and persistent.

I think instead of being given your own the room, the entire Infinity menu you should be virtually accessible. What I mean is:

When you’re on the main menu, you have two Options: Campaign and Infinity. Clicking on Infinity will take you onto the deck of the infinity.

From here, you can move around and enter various rooms. Entering the Holo Deck will take you to MM. Entering the Hanger will take you to Spartan Ops. Entering the Armoury will allow you to customise your Spartan + Loadouts.

I made a thread about this a while back, but I think there are so many possibilities. I would love, if the loading screen before Spartan Ops, spawned you in an Armoury where you chose your weapons, AA’s and specialisations before entering the Hanger; which would start the mission. If you were playing Co-Op, then you and your friends can walk around and decide who is going to be the sniper etc.

Never going to happen, but would be endless fun

That sound a bit too RPGey for me. Maybe we should have an option to have it.

Sadly I don’t think this is the vision for Halo 4 multiplayer. Perhaps in future games.

But I’ve always wanted something like this.

This kind of extras to make you more immersed in the world have been done to a limited extent in games before,

i’m thinking of NCAA and nfl live i think both did cribs or dorm rooms. Its fun actually but game devs don’t seem to want to waste precious time on little touches like that anymore.

i’ll bet in the future next console it could happen. the industry is all about one-up-manship and truly original ideas are hard to come by, so eventually little gimmicks like this will make it in games, count on it

What youre basically saying is to make a central room main menu …cool

Sounds really cool.

> What youre basically saying is to make a central room main menu …cool

Thanks.

It’s nothing like an RPG.

That sounds really cool. I love these kinds of things that make the universe that much cooler and immersive.

How the -Yoink- does this sound at all like an RPG?

Perfect Dark did it, why not Halo?

It’s called your dorm room in the College of Mages at Winterhold. Where Sam the decapitated goat head awaits you and your truck load of ingredients with other useless pixels you can’t sell. Or Fable where John Cleese tells you look dashing as you dress like a college basketball chicken mascot.

I’ll just stick with a menu for Halo 4. But you sir have hit upon something I hope that they do one day and that is a spin off of Halo exploring RPGS, Mechs, and anything else noteworthy in the gaming industry.

Sir although I like the attempt I don’t believe this post was stupid enough for that level of sarcasm
