Does anyone else find it useless to buy a gold pack and gift it? It would make more sense if you had to get 15,000 req points but spending actual cash that is ridiculous… Any thoughts?
YES, it would make it better for the players to gift reqs that you have or packs with your req points, not buying them with cash.
yes it is ridiculous
It prevents fools and miscreants from exploiting and taking advantage of the system (gifting from alternate accounts, selling, etc).

Further, Gold Pack Gifting is only available to players once they’ve reached Spartan Rank 5 or greater in Halo 5: Guardians.

Beat me to it!
I literally had just copied that and was about to paste.

And the world is flat too. I can’t buy into their reason
I’m quote pleased that they added this feature. Perhaps in the future it could be expanded to more than just REQ packs, but for now it’s handy for myself and others to use in giveaways
I had a few Gold packs that I gave out to community members over the past few weeks ( lucky tweeter got 2 last night ).

This example may give some insight as to why they made that decision.
Quote from another thread:
"What they mean by exploiting is people that would defraud others by saying “I have a bunch of RP, I will sell you gold packs for 50 cents.” And then the dumb player paypals the money and never gets the gold pack.
Another thing on that same line, this one being more of an economic reason, is that to be able to gift req packs with RP would create a market that would compete with 343’s microtransactions.
For example, I will grind RP to sell gold packs at a lower price than 343. Both of these reasons combined is more than enough to say “lets not make gifting possible with RP.”
I agree with 343’s decision on this. It was smart.
If people defrauded and made a market for the Achilles helmet by selling spots on spartan companies…imagine all the problems with gifting reqs obtained with in-game currency."

Why not? Makes perfect sense to me.
I have enough where I would GIVE to people, not sell. And there are a few out there that would do the same. As far as pay for them between players, no I don’t think that is a good idea at all.

Your intentions might be pure but the same can’t be said for the rest of humanity.

Agreed, strange addition tbh.
Maybe the ability to gift one to another player for say 30,000 RP with a cap on how you can gift to the same person would be nice for the high levels to help people out.

I would have to agree, I see 343I’s reason, but there could be many possible solutions
