Giant vehicles in infinite

I think it would be awesome if players could use mammoths and scarabs in multiplayer

A fun idea, but the maps needed for those to really be playable would be far to large. Thus taking up too much room in the game. Does make me wonder though if 343 can develop some type of smaller version of these to work on maps.

What purpose would they serve? The Scarab’s main gun would be too OP and the Mammoth is basically just a giant transport. The maps would also have to be pretty big and open as well for them to actually move around. I could see the Mammoth in some type of Invasion gametype where you use it to assault the base maybe, but I don’t know really.

While there was no major purpose in the competitive sense, it was always fun to drive the Elephant around on Sandtrap in Halo 3. Gave some good laughs and having a mobile base sometimes helped give an edge.

Like elephant, or phantoms

BTB CTF on Sandtrap was a blast! Some of my favorite memories in Halo’s MP were made in that mode, so I do see a clear purpose for gigantic moving bases: those aare a hell lot of fun to play with!
Sometimes is that simple and I really do miss the map gimmicks like the rotating helix in Zanzibar or the Spire from Reach. :relaxed:

And if the Scarab is too unbalanced, it still could be an amazing feature of a last round in Invasion mode:

  • Round: UNSC has to enter a mobile Scarab foundry dropped near a human base. - Round: UNSC entered the foundry, but the Scarab is still under construction - Elites got to defende the core for three minutes. - Round: the Scarab is ready to create havoc in the human base, but they got limited time and gave to juggle between attack and defense. So even if it doesn’t work in BTB or Warzone, if the much requested Invasion mode really does make its comes back, than a Scarab run would be freaking amazing! Plus it’s always nice having those toys in Forge. Just think what modders and forgers could do!

I would like a warzone map where the 2 side bases are mammoths that are just driving circles around the map.
also elephants in forge so we can have a strongholds map/gamemode where there are 3 teams, 3 elephants, 1 life, 5 rounds, and touching the floor without a vehicle kills you.
or a similar gamemode where there’s 2 teams, 2 liches, no floor, and the goal is to get inside the enemy lich and destroy the core without the one life thing to hold you back. 3 rounds. and maybe a way to attach a banshee or a boarding platform for a small phantom or falcon to spawn at so people can fly over to the other lich and have dog fights.
I just really like the idea of having “board the enemy” style modes in halo.
or even have a walker assault type game mode with a mammoth or scarab but 343 would need to come up with some pretty big maps for that one to work.

I can see maps like sandtrap easily be able to hold a scarab and still be fun. heck I’d go as far to say we could make noctus work. as far as the mammoth goes I do think special maps would have to be made for them or like I said in my first point, just have them moving as if they’re on a rail without player control seeing as how they’re much less maneuverable than a scarab.
