How about instead of complaining, we could all try to see how this could work?
I’ll start:
- Custom Loadouts:
Primary Weapons:
BR- medium recoil, medium damage, best at mid range but effective in all ranges. Burst.
AR- major recoil, high damage, good in close range, effective in mid range, ineffective at long range. Automatic.
DMR- low recoil, medium damage, good at mid to long range, ineffective at close range. One shot weapon with high RoF.
Secondary Weapons:
Pistol- medium recoil, slightly fast RoF, medium damage, most effective against unshielded enemies. Good for mid and close range and nearly effective at long range.
SMG?- highest RoF of all weapons, low damage, ineffective at long range and mostly at mid range too. Best against shields.
The major differences would be in range and all the weapons in each category will be heavily balanced against each-other. BR and Pistol are default. I chose the SMG as the second option due to the lack of another confirmed, fitting weapon.
Grenades:
Give each a specific purpose and balance it out. Plasmas should not be an obvious choice, nor should they be too overpowered as they are now select-able. Make frags stronger to make them more useful. There’s not much I can say beyond that since there seem to be two unknown new grenade types.
Armor Abilities:
Have them disabled in most standard gametypes with a preset one turned on. Allow them for standard slayer gametypes. I honestly don’t see how else it could work.
"Perks": we know nothing.
I think something like this would be acceptable.
- Random Weapon Spawns:
There is not much to say here. It is fairly balanced. But picking up weapons across the map and knowing always where to go (not necessarily timing spawns) has always been part of Halo. This is why a gametype with normal weapon spawns should also be available in all these playlists. Acceptable?
- Armor Abilities:
Sprint: confirmed default, not armor ability
Jetpack: it could be better as a simple double jump instead of a fully controllable, map breaking, flying death machine. I think most would agree there’s no problem with that.
Hologram: make it less predictable to the naked eye, but that if you are expecting it, you would know what it is. How? I honestly have no idea, but Reach’s Hologram was down right useless due to it’s predictability.
Camo: make it shorter, make you noticeable on the motion sensor and consider making you have to move to stay completely transparent instead of helping out the campers.
Forerunner Vision: Give it a 5 meter radius and make it hard to see anything but the heat trails, so it will be annoying to use unless you are specifically looking for someone.
Armor Locked: confirmed to be removed.
- Instant Respawns:
Franky confirmed they are just in some gametypes, specifically FFA and that they are definitely not going to be in objective gametypes. I think we should give it a chance as is and 343 could easily remove this option later on (since it is already confirmed to be in SOME gametypes, that suggests they have the option to enable/disable it).
- Join Games In Progress:
Make it so that you can disable that options through the options menu, then most people won’t know it can be done and only the people that really care will do it. That way a lot of people will still join mid-game and there would be benefits but the anyone that really cares about this feature could just disable it. Possible?
Could this work? Do you have any refinements?
