Hey Everyone, I’m currently working through the halo books being cryptum my first read and than contact harvest, I have bought GOO and was wondering do I need to read FOR Or FS before it ?
The Fall of Reach not as long as you know Mendez and Halsey were the creators of the SPARTAN-II program.
And GoO could contain some spoilers of First Strike since it happens after it…

No, its content is mostly unaltered. All that has been changed was some very little canonical errors (like changing a ship model, erasing some incorrect sentences…) and they have been added a new chapter at the very end connecting with Halo Legends and a little bit with Halo Reach (but you can read this last chapter in Amazon.com Look Inside! feature for free).
Nothing worth of a second buy.

I would suggest reading the original novel trilogy before reading Ghosts of Onyx, but there are not many spoilers in it for the other books. I hope you enjoy them all though. I already pre-ordere Glasslands and the next Forerunner saga book, Primordium if I remember correctly. Anyway, all the novels currently out are definitely worth the read.
