Could it be a possibility that they make a entrance in Halo 4? (after all it is a shield world.)

Requiem isn’t Onyx.
Both Shield Worlds, yes. But Requiem is still quite different… and not just by the fact that it is roamed by Promethean Defense AI.

I wish

What features make it different then?

This isn’t your normal Shield World.
Most Shield Worlds have a habitable surface, as if a regular planet, and either a hollow interior or a portal.
Requiem’s outer surface is completely Forerunner. Its all metal.
And the most surprising and unique part… instead of having a star at its center like usual… Requiem houses an entire planet.
Requiem is a planet with a Forerunner shell built around it, sealing in Promethean AI and even a Forerunner Cryptum.
I think the Onyx Sentinels are specific to a certain type of shield world, and Requiem is not that type of Shield World.

Hmm I see your point

Didn’t know that, thought it was you every day shield world. So the exterior would explain why their are forerunner pillars going into Requiems atmosphere. That makes sense. It is pretty interesting.

Yeah, its pretty cool.
If it didn’t have all those clouds… the “sky” of Requiem would be a massive Forerunner shell with pillars descending to the surface of the planet.
Can’t wait to see it more in gameplay!
Seeing as they haven’t announced that boulders would be usable weapons, I doubt it.
> Seeing as they haven’t announced that boulders would be usable weapons, I doubt it.
lol, but true.
We wouldn’t be able to beat the Onyx Sentinels unless we threw rocks at them. Rocks are the only thing slow enough to get past their shield’s efficiently.
> This isn’t your normal Shield World.
We’ve seen three shield worlds now, counting Requiem. Why would anyone think, based on what we’ve seen, there is a “normal” Shield World? It looks like they tried various formats, and I think that makes sense – these things were made simultaneously across the expanse of the galaxy, overseen by different people.
So, here’s what I think: no, we won’t see Onyx sentinels. Whomever made Onyx decided to use that approach to the system. It worked well for Onyx; if only Forerunners made it inside in time. But given what we’ve seen, we should expect to see new things, not old things; so far, just about every Forerunner installation has brought something new to the table.

Why can’t a grenade chuck be as slow as throwing a rock? Unless the activate their shields as soon as the detonation occurs?

Thats true…
I was thinking “normal” along the lines of a outer surface and a hollow interior with a star.
But there are others… so normal isn’t much of a normal.
Onyx was made up by Sentinels, [Halo Wars Shield World] had a hollow interior with a star, and Requiem is a Forerunner shell encasing a planet.
Well there must have been some form of sentinels to create the massive shell for the planet and the Achievement for the Level Shutdown suggests something… along the lines of halting the production of such things. (Yeah i’m kind of going out on a whim here)

Probably.
Unless you were planning to beat them down with an unarmed grenade, or chuck unarmed grenades at them.
I wonder what a Sticky would do…

I suppose grenades would work, but if there were more than 4 sentinels you would be screwed.
I don’t think so.
I mean, those things are WAY too powerful. and unless we can chuck rocks, I don’t see it happening.
maybe as a boss fight…

Perhaps we’re shutting down Requiem’s power source… but that would plunge the planet into darkness. The lighting system, as far as we know, is automated. Simulating night and day.
Or shutting down the production of Prometheans. The next level is “Composer”, the rumored source of how Prometheans are made.
We haven’t seen all the Promethean variants yet, so maybe there are others that require a direct power source, and we’re shutting that down.
I’m still wondering why the Forerunner’s stopped using the most effective model of Sentinel ever produced. I mean: the factory on Onyx was said to have been able to churn out millions of them easily. Why not replace all the other Sentinels with these highly advanced, uber shielded and deadly variants? They can literally combine with each other and win entire fleet battles.
But no: instead they had to use the ineffective, not so well shielded, and mediocre Sentinels on the Halo rings. At least the Installation in Halo 2 had Enforcer Sentinels.

where’d you get the info on Requiem’s appearance, by the way?
