Ghost of Onyx or The Cole Protocol

which is better.

I have both and I want to know which I should read first.

sigh

every time.

I really liked Ghosts of Onyx, and since its secuel is going to be released on October 25th and answers a very lot of questions about the fate of a lot of important characters I think you should read it first.

They’re both good novels although I prefer Onyx because of the heavy Spartan part of the plot, epic climax and the ending that left so many possibilities open for a sequel. Protocol was cool for featuring an early Arbiter and also Keyes.

I really enjoyed Ghosts of Onyx, personally. The Cole Protocol was good, but GoO is probably my favourite book so far. (Currently reading Contact Harvest, I haven’t read First Strike yet.)

If you want a story that intertwines (loosely) with the games, get Ghosts of Onyx.

If you want an all-new story with characters that only appear in that one book, and you like the idea of Covenant and Humans working together, get Cole Protocol.

They’re both good, though.

Ghosts of Onyx

Ghosts of Onyx is much better.

It definitely is.

I think you should read the novels in the order the were published, so GoO first.

thanks for the info guys. I’ll probably start reading it in a day or two.

P.S. thanks franciscoxboxer for the heads-up on the sequel

You’re welcome.

The secuel will be called Halo: Glasslands, if you want to look out for more information about it.
Oh, and 343 is going to start a new trilogy with Glasslands, making reading Ghosts of Onyx even more important.

Halo: Grasslands huh. I’ll try to get that soon after i’m done reading GoO.
