Ghost Mechanics: Commendations and Critiques

Let’s talk about the Ghost, and how everyone is feeling about it. My take is fairly limited, but 343 please give us more vehicle time next weekend!

  • Sluggish handling: welcome to Halo 2-esque slip n slide! I really don’t love this, Halo 5 had killer Ghost momentum style. - Blaster power and aim: Totally magnificent, and make the Ghost a true terror at longer ranges, compared to Halo 5 (this is reminiscent of 2, but thankfully nerfed) - Hijack proximity: Massive and far too easy. In Halo 5 my splatter to hijack ratio when I’m ghosting is 100:1. In Infinite it’s 2:1. Decrease the range of hijack, not everyone is Master Chief! - Splatter area: The splatter box feels much smaller in this game than any precursor game. The best thing about the Ghost is splattering. Make that sonofagun a bulldozer 343!Anyone got anything else to commend or critique?

Yea, I’ll agree with you on these. I was a little -Yoink!- faced when I couldn’t splatter as much, and the slipping and sliding was slightly annoying. I definitely preferred the H5 Ghosts, but this is a new game, and I’m sure I’ll get use to this Ghost too.

I personally enjoyed it, but I do agree with the hit box feeling smaller than ever before for splatters , I had no problem with how sluggish it felt.

The way your describing the ghost as “sluggish” and the way the “splatter box feels much smaller” instantly reminded me of the Chopper.
I think we also have to take into consideration the return of the Chopper, even do we haven’t been able to play it, but hopefully they feel separate and unique from each other.
