Getting teamed up with Noobs all the time

I don’t really know if it’s the point or not, but it’s really freaking annoying getting teamed up with people who plays like they’ve never touched a xbox controller before. Because of that I get about 1 win every 10th game, which is really annoying when I’m aiming to get the monthly challenge… And I’m just wondering is there anyone else that’s getting teamed up with new players more than 90% of the time?
343 please make some balance, I get that I’m high level but that doesn’t mean I should get teamed with people that’s in level 5.

tl;dr no balance and a shorthatemail.

add good players to your friends list

If it only was that easy

Same here, and I have good friends, it’s just no one plays Halo 4 because no one likes it.

add me iM IRinkRat if you want to play some time. I know exactly what u meen. Sittin there with 400+ points while no one else has even 200 but you still get absolutely pwned. Take the good with the bad though i guess. Like that guy said above, get some good friends. I usually invite people if they do extraordinarly good and they usually join because i do good and ive met alot of good cool people that way, even pros and semi pros (if you care).

I’ll add you once I get on my xbox

This has been driving me NUTS. I thought it was because my kd was kind of high so they balance it by putting -Yoink- people on my team. I’ve also noticed when I’m playing with a friend that’s not that good, the game is A LOT easier.

TC are you sure the true skill isn’t working, and you’re not being paired with other people you skill?

Your KD is 1.13, plenty of people would call you the newb, thus getting matched with other newbs.

Do you know WHY your KD is that low? Because you keep playing flood, the newbiest playlist in existence.

Your stats:
Slayer: 1.28
CTF: 1.25
Oddball: 1.21
Dominion: 1.35
Regicide: 1.2

Flood: 0.85

Flood is KILLING your KD, thus killing your true skill, thus giving you newbier teammates when you’re in team games.

STOP PLAYING FLOOD, play something else and get your KD up. Your KD could easily hit 1.25. Once your KD is to 1.25, go into the recruiting section of the forums and find a semi competitive clan who will take somebody with 1.25.

Then learn from your clan mates, a large percentage of the skill gap comes from knowledge. I’m proof of that. I can’t 5 shot for -Yoink-, and my KD is still at 2.4 simply from knowledge. Any time you find a new trick or technique, share it with your clan, and hope that they’ll do the same with you, that’s how my old buddies used to play, pooled our knowledge together and we were all better for it.

So in recap:
A) Stop playing flood, period
B) Get your KD up to 1.25 which should be no problem for you
C) Once it is there, find a decent clan
D) Raise each other up by helping each other our and pooling knowledge.

Remember that your KD should reflect your natural playstyle. If you go out of your way to boost KD in KotH by spamming grenades at the hill without trying to win, that’s not you getting better. You should be aiming to get better, not just stat pad. Hope that helps you out TC, best of luck to you.

Damn nice analysis there ^. haha

I kept being teamed up with terrible teamates as well and my kd is 1.8 something. The best thing to do is to enter a match with people you know that are good.

NOTED. I’ll never let my baby brother near my xbox again lol, he’s the one wanting to play Flood all the time. Thank you for explaining this for me

though i do play my best when i play, i do not care of the outcome, especially when you are paired with randoms and there is no rank to keep track of.

if my team wins, awesome! if not, might as well make myself look good.

k/D has nothing to do with your trueskill. Its all wins and losses, and its playlist dependent, so playing Flood doesnt impact it AT ALL.

Plus, anyone who looks at someones general k/d and not their slayer k/d is an idiot. Who cares what your general k/d is? You can pad that -Yoink- so easy. You can still pad it in BTB, which is why I wish there was a team slayer specific k/d but whatever.

Point is, K/D has nothing to do with trueskill. Feel free to play all the flood you want, it wont impact your matchmaking on other playlists. And dont worry about hurting your k/d with fun gametypes, anyone with any skill will look at your slayer stats anyway.

> k/D has nothing to do with your trueskill. Its all wins and losses, and its playlist dependent, so playing Flood doesnt impact it AT ALL.

Do you have a link to 343 stating that? I just tried a breif search and couldn’t find it.

> Plus, anyone who looks at someones general k/d and not their slayer k/d is an idiot. Who cares what your general k/d is? You can pad that Yoink! so easy. You can still pad it in BTB, which is why I wish there was a team slayer specific k/d but whatever.

You realize BTB currently affects your slayer KD right?

If what you’re saying is true, that KD has no baring on your trueskill, not even in slayer, and it is purely wins/losses, then 343 -Yoinked!- up more than I thought with JIP.

Even if it has no baring on TS, I still look at player’s KDs. Sorry but I won’t accept somebody with a KD of 1 as being good no matter how many games they’ve won. Weaker players often win games as a result of the stronger players carrying them, so the weaker player should be viewed the same as the stronger player for being on the winning team? That’s ridiculous.

On the flip side, a good player joins a game about to end, and there is a newb on the team who went -10. Before the game ends, the good player goes 3-1.
So the entire team gets a loss, should the good player with a KD of 3 that match, really be viewed the same as the newb who went .5 and cost their team the match? Again that would be ridiculous.

I do try to take into account as much as I can before doing an initial judgement on a player, and that includes wheelmen medals, as somebody driving a guass hog will have a lower KD than the one in the gun obviously. W/L ratios however, in my opinion at least, don’t really alter my view of the player either way. In H3 and Reach they were a slight variable, but not now with JIP.

> If it only was that easy

It is. I have a full list of people I met 50 high in TS, Team Swat, Snipers, etc, and even BTB, from Halo 3.

If you are as good as you say, put in your mic, be competitive, add competitive players. The end.

same thing happened to me but i found a way to bring up your flood kd, now every time i become a flood i hide for rest of the game(being a bad sport) and at the end of the game i have a 10+ kd

Precisely pretty much every game I get teamed with a bunch of level 5-20s while the other team has people who are level 90-130 its ridiculous what is with the team balance AI, however it is also messed around when people are in parties and then the team balancing AI has an issue it cant cope they must fix it.

Warmishfrog out.

that’s incredibly incorrect

  1. csr =/= trueskill, the team csr is apparently trueskill, however i don’t know how effective it actually is until there is a large population.

  2. your performance in a playlist doesn’t affect the other regarding trueskill

  3. k/d is for scrubs, if you were legitimately wanting to improve i’d play mlg customs with good players, however that is a moot point considering there is no competitive scene in halo 4.

  4. win rate is more effective in matchmaking playlists, though even then it really doesn’t mean anything if you’re the king of the noobs

how far you’re wanting to go skill wise and doing what you think is fun will determine how good you’ll be.

nvm it’s a necro thread

It sure is.
