Okay, I know I can’t really speak much for myself. I’m not a BAD player, but there is room for improvement. However, I always seem to get stuck in a team where my teammates run around like headless chickens. For example, on a TDM they run straight into death traps and get obliterated whereas on more objective based game types, they seem to forget that it’s not a TDM and just run around trying to kill people. I rarely get a team which fully understands that you’re supposed to capture the flag, or assist the ball carrier (which means NOT KILLING HIM. It’s getting rather stressful and making the game lack that fun that I so desperately desire.
I’m not bothered about losing, hell, the fight is what it’s about. But when you’re getting absolutely crushed and your it’s all your teams fault for being simple minded fools, it gets very annoying.
Get some friends and work with them. Playing with randoms has always been limited. When I play with randoms, I go completely solo and just do the best I can. Eventually your skill rank will go up and you’ll get matched with better players.
Halo uses True Skill to match you up. If you’re getting loads of bad teams this could be you. I seem to end up in these sorts of rotations but I know those players are the closest to my skills out there at the time.
Leave the game as there is no penalty and then wait a few minutes you should drop out of the rotation.

I do usually play with my friends, but on somedays it’s just me on Halo 4 and it can get quite annoying. I’ll take your advice and just push on with it though, however there’s nothing worse than seeing 3 team mates get crushed by one enemy. It’s like… RVB reference here. The entire enemy team is made up of Agent Maine’s and my team is filled with Caboose’s, and I’m Church, just stood there and shaking my head in dismay.
Do they use different skill rankings for each matchmaking gametype? I’m curious, because I have great K/D ratios and evenly-matched games in big team, but as soon as I go to regular slayer, I’m paired with terrible players and get curb stomped horribly. 600-140 is NOT a result I like to see ten games in a row.
I’ve played about 100 total games of ctf/oddball/koth.
and I usually run with 4s, and I will tell you that our random NEVER, NEVER EVER takes part in the objective. he is always a stat king. They will never pick up the ball, never run the flag, and never stay in the hill.
And the worse part is 9/10, all 4 of us are the better slayers.
