As the title states I’m getting really sick of the ranking system.
So I’m new to Halo on the Xbox, and so I started out pretty bad, the first game I got ranked in was SWAT. I got platinum. Not bad, but the problem is I’ve been getting WAAAAY better. I frequently am the best preforming player on my team (with the best kdr, and usually most kills). But I keep getting put on the losing team. So ignore the fact that this last game I had 21 kills and fewer than 5 deaths. I still get penalized because two of my teammates couldn’t preform.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Halo 5, and I love being a big fish in a little pond. But it’s embarrassing to stay such a low rank for an increasing skill level.

This then causes you to go down a few levels (CSR wise) since the CSR is judged by your wins and losses in the game-mode, as oppose your personal performance. (So instead of it judging your W/L, it should judge your K/D.)
I don’t know if this makes any sense at all, but it frustrates me and most likely all the other competitive players that attempt to get the highest CSR they can.

As it turns out, apparently 343i is fixing the CSR system. Lets hope they do it right.
If you want to rank up the team has to win. This is a team based game if you lost the game why would your rank go up just because you did good means nothing if you still lost. If you want to get a rank that suits you play free for all that way the only one your fighting for is you. For any other game you might want to find a team.

The intention of a CSR is to pick out the players that have the same amount of skill and put them together. This means that it should be K/D wise as oppose to W/L.
You do, however, make a valid point with the team thing, but that is not at all what the point of the CSR is and that is why they are fixing it.

I understand what you’re saying, but that doesn’t change the fact that your rank gets tanked if you happen to be put in the same team as a bunch of feeders.
I agree. I’m in the opposite situation. 75% of the time I go negative with kd by quite a bit, but yet I’m on the winning team, and in platinum 4-5 because of it. This needs to be looked at, as right now it’s getting lucky with teams. I would like to see that you at least go down when you do bad, even if you win, and vice versa, but with extra boosts for win/lose

All they literally have to do is take in the halo 3 or titanfall ranking system and everyone will be happy because if youre in bronze its literally your fault. Both of those systems were based heavily on how well YOU are doing per match. Halo 3s was different in that winning and losing still had an effect on if you went up or not but you could still go up even if you lose. Titanfall ranking system was based purely on how well you were doing on a game to game basis. Ive loved both of those systems because nothing holds me back from getting better teams because I can get put up with and against the better players and it felt FAIR. Ive always despised win/loss based ranking systems. its lazy, and cant accurately dictate someones actual skill.

True, its a team based game, but a SINGLE persons skill can NOT be decided on the outcome of the REST of the team and not on HIS actions alone.

By the way, can you give proof that they’re going to change it?
Like an article or something. I want to believe you but I would like proof before I go talking about it to everyone.
i say you wanna rank up play with a full squad, i have gained all my ranks solo queuing. i have only wanted to break my controller 10 times, seriously though get a full squad that is good.
I’m curious: Why does nobody bring up the ranking system in Reach Arena? Isn’t Halo 5’s system ripped straight from that? (I have no idea because I’m not a hardcore player, didn’t play much Arena in Reach).

No. Halo 5’s ranking is more closely linked to LoL, SC, etc.

Okay, so what’s different? (Again, I don’t play hardcore competitive stuff like LoL so I have no idea what you’re talking about lol
Buddy its time to learn a lesson about HALO MATCHMAKING. No halo has ever been good for solo searching. Its an extremely terrible move and if youre lucky youll maybe get 3 games in a row without having crappy teammates. You need to run mm with a partner or 2 or a to4 thats your best option buddy. Theirs no way to balance the ranking perfectly. No game has done it! and no game ever will! Find some players online and run mm with. Unless youre one of those kids that are all like “I only add people on my list that I know in real life” if youre one of those guys then thats YOUR FAULT and not 343s.

What about this, I’m finally making up my rank with SWAT, I’ve managed to get it to Platinum 4, however I’m still getting placed in matches with SILVER LEVEL ONE!
Again, I have no problem being a big fish in a little pond, but this is a problem that needs to be fixed.
