I have read the forum guidelines and I dont think I am breaking any rules with this topic however if I am I apologize.

Ok, I am going to be receiving Halo 4 on Friday however there were some things I wanted to know. Please no hate posts or such directed at me, I just want to know some facts.

  1. Are the Halo 4 servers going to be reset a day before release like Reach was. I dont think its fair to others if they are not. I am a bigger Campaign fan so I will just be playing my solo Legendary play through instead most of the time and playing in Forge.

  2. Are the Multiplayer servers even up?

  3. Are they banning 360’s for “LEGIT DISC” copies? I ask this because I heard it from one other random person online. I know they have been permabanning Pirated copies and I dont see a logical stand point on their end for banning Legit copies when its not the buyers fault. I have had Halo Reach and Black Ops 1 early with no trouble and was just wondering. I would like proof to your claim as well, I really dont want to see random posts about “yes yous will be bannned if you plays earlys”, I would appreciate if someone known or close to the dev team could give me some insight on this.

I know I am going to get some hate posts and such but I appreciate all of you who answered my questions, thank you.

I don’t think Microsoft will do anything. They know if you have the legit game or if you’re pirating. I’m pretty sure you’re in the clear my man. Enjoy :slight_smile:

You should be fine, however gamers even with legit copies can and have been banned when playing a couple of days early. It doesn’t happen very often but it’s the risk you take.

You’re very lucky to get it on Friday, having to wait until the 5th or 6th is killing me lol.

Yeah my Vacation starts on Saturday and ends the following Sunday. :slight_smile:

I have had Halo 3, ODST and Reach a day or two early from buying online, many of my friends have too, if your copy is legitimate and legally obtained I would say you’re fine,

If it’s dodgy and you are trying it on you will no doubt get the account ban you deserve.

  3. There is no need to worry, we’re under a week closer to release date and people will receive copies early so it will be fine to play :slight_smile:

Okay, I’m going to save you from getting banned. MS is going banhappy with anyone who has an early copy of Halo 4. If you don’t want to get banned you have to get on line with MS support and show them proof of purchase. There was a thread on the Xbox forums (not halo.xbox.com, just xbox.com) where quite a few people who had legitimate copies were getting banned. Don’t worry though, even if you do get banned, if you can prove it’s legit they’ll unban you. Hope this helps.

Yes some reviewer’s were accidentally banned.

However, as stated by 343i and Microsoft, if you are banned unjustly and can provide proof of purchase, then they will un-ban you.
