does anyone know perhaps if GameStop or other retailers will be releasing Halo5 early on the 26th? I live on the west coast and I’ve seen this before for other game launches. They’d release a game at 8 in the evening the day prior, not to mention the time it takes to download games anymore . Just curious if there’s any Intel out there about this. Thanks
Idk, not sure that’d be fair seeing how the rest of us have to wait until Midnight for it.
Don’t have to wait till Midnight if digital, haven’t had to wait for any previous game. Always around 11PM CST when game goes live. One would only assume 9PM PST.

If that would be the case then the east coast would get to play it 3 hours early, because on the internet all times are in sync.
I talked to my local EB games and they said they’re releasing at 9 and xbox store opens the game at 9:01
Can’t speak to the physical versions, but I believe Microsoft now unlocks the game service based on EST instead of PST, or they localize it based on the region, because I was able to play Witcher 3 at midnight, and I’m EST.
The Live Event counts down to 9 PST, doesn’t it? That’s probably the answer, right there.

I live on the West Coast too, and GameStop has released other Xbox One games early, the day before at 8PM.
I’m not sure if they are doing it for Halo 5 though. Maybe call your GameStop store and ask? Usually GameStop will call you the Thurs/Fri before the game Launches and tell you what they are doing. They’ve called me quite a few times.
I would have called and asked, myself, but I’m getting the Console on the 20th.

not looking forward to the install time though. It’s like getting a remote control car for Christmas only to find out you don’t have batteries for it and every store in town is closed.
